Altered Fates

A Stab

added by AdobeFats 17 years ago A

Jennifer tried to calm her fine stallion but having seen the Medallion now before him, Jarred thought only of himself.

Snapping at the medallion, Jarred bit down, catching a corner of it, then charged out of his stall.

Heading down the barn's wide ilse, Jarred made a bee line for the corral.

"No, no come back here!" screamed Jennifer.

Standing in the corral, the Medallion tightly in his toothy grip, Jarred had his full memory and knowledge returned.

Slowly his right foreleg lifted slightly, the front point of his hoof just scratching the dust of the corral.

J A R R E D

He wrote, the letter jagged but qite readible.

An angered and fustrated Jennifer stood by the corral's gate, her thought on how the stallion was so headstrong, a true knothead!

Then she calmed down and seeing the horse looking down, consentrating as if doing something, keeping his total interest.

Looking up at Jennifer, Jarred whinnied a harsh greeting then dropping his head to try and point at what he wrote. Forgetting himself, the Medallion falling out of his mouth the moment he whinnied.

Jennifer stepped closer, bending down she reached for the silver Medallion buckle. There in the dank light from the security lights, was this rouch tracing written in the dirt.

J-A-R-R-E-D

"Jarred!" spoke Jennifer, she looking at what the horse wrote and then standing up to look at him in the face.

Jarred was thrilled, he moving his head up and down as would a human motioning, as a yes!

"Jarred, J..A..R..R..E..D........!" said Jennifer, her hand gripping the silver buckle, as the other would reach out to stroke the ponies' face.

Eyes met, thoughts of a boy trapped inside a beastly form having lived the bestial life, longed to talk of his experiences.

"Jarred, no, no he's dead and gone!" said Jennifer.

Jarred whinnied again with even more harsh desire to make her listen.

To this, Jennifer backed away from this, her stallion. She felt a sudden sense of fear of the animal, as if it was angered and would attack.

Turning in haste and flight, Jennifer ran toward the barn door.

Waiting for a second or two, Jarred charged after his girlfriend.

Suddenly Jennifer found herself trapped between the ensensed horse and the barn's walls. Her eyes searched for any weapon as a defense. Panic filled her with adrenalynn, scared she was ready to grab at anything to give her some protection or a weapon of defense.

Holding the point of the silver buckle out like a knife, Jennifer stood her ground.

Jarred wanting the buckle back, if to make himself all pony and forget his past self, or become as he was, a boy and son of his loving parents.

A quick move to reach out and take the buckle from Jennifer's hand, his teeth took a firm grip on the buckle.

With the touch of Jarred and Jennifer together holding on to the Medallion, the silvery glow began to brighten.

As if from the silver buckle came a narrow beam of light. It searched for and touched Jennifer's forehead, then jumped a beam to Jarred's hairy forehead, and another beam back to the Medallion itself.

"JARRED?" thought Jennifer.

"JENNIFER!" thought Jarred.

The two minds touched, shared thoughts memories, and what they didn't know of the other, they knew all then.
