That was when Serad remembered that Queen Beth had an appointment in less than an hour.
If it wasn't cancelled in time, then people would come looking for her, and he couldn't let them see her in such a humiliating pose.
He looked back at Beth hesitantly, before quickly walking out of the room, intending to take care of things as quickly as possible.
Serad had only left the room for a few minutes, when several Maids entered, holding various things like paintings and bedsheets.
"Maria and Charlotte, get to work on the bedding. Annabelle, start taking down the paintings. Clara, trimm the plants and check if they have any wilted leaves. And-" The Head Maid suddenly froze. "Who put this here? We can't possibly leave this... thing in the Queen's bedroom."
She waved her hand and two of the Maids further back came to the front. "Margareth, Clarinda, take this obscene thing away immediately."
The two Maids got to work immediately, but struggled to lift the Vase due to it's weight.
As the other Maids dispersed throughout the room, one of the few that hadn't been given orders spoke up.
"Uhm, Mistress." The Head Maid turned to her with mild annoyance visible on her face. "Yes?"
"Why would..." She blushed as she looked at the strange Vase. "...such an... odd thing be in the Queen's bedroom?"
"Such a crude thing could only have been left here as a way to humiliate the Queen, though i would struggle to think of who could be responsible."
She sighed, before her face turned serious again. "But that doesn't concern you. What does concern you is changing out the drapes."
"Y-yes Mistress!" The younger Maid quickly got to work, afraid that she may have upset the Head Maid.
Just as the young Maid left, the two carrying the Vase approached the door and stopped, and one of them asked her where it should be brought.
