Jacob quietly closed the front door of the unit and surveyed her surroundings. She was in what appeared to be a rundown complex. She followed a "Fire exit" sign down some stairs and found a door. It opened and she found herself outside in a dark alley. Suddenly being alone in the dark in a flimsy nightgown didn't seem such a good idea.
Having second thoughts she tried to open the door which had just closed. But it was locked. There was no going back. Felling chilled she put Rick's shirt on over the nightgown. It was big on her, almost like a short dress. She could still feel that her legs were quite chilled. She should have looked for some underwear. She was also in bare feet. She really had not thought out her escape very well.
Jacob had learnt a little about how the medallion worked. She knew she had to get home and find some of her own clothes then she could become herself again. Without her own clothes she was stuck in this Sharon woman's body. (She was unaware that she had been changed into Jacky). Hopefully there was some cash in the handbag she had stolen. Enough to catch a taxi back to her own apartment.
Well she wasn't going to find a taxi in this back alley. She had to find a main road. Bravely she left the grounds of the apartment building and headed down the alley. Her bare feet hurt on the gravel. She had to get away before Jacky or Rick discovered she was gone.
5 minutes and two streets later a car approached. She was in two minds. She was scared stiff, being in an unfamiliar body and scantily clad. She felt like hiding from the approaching lights. But she knew that getting a lift was the fastest way out of there. Rick could already be looking for her. Perhaps the driver would take pity on her and stop. She would plead that she was a woman escaping from an abusive husband. She knew that no stranger would believe her true story. Perhaps the person would even drive her home?
In desperation she moved to the middle of the road and waved her arms.
The car stopped so she was in it's headlights. She tried to make a pleading look.
20 seconds later the car edged forward then stopped when the passenger door was next to her. The automatic window wound down and a male voice said 'Get in'
