Several years later when you were 28 you were on a date with your girlfriend Jessica. You had messed with your power a little, but hadn't really told anyone. The long stick of a woman wore her chestnut hair long and had on some tight jeans and a sweater. Not particularly romantic you were going through the grocery store you used to work at. You'd go grab some produce and meat and make a nice homecooked dinner out of it. Maybe also grabbing a desert/snack and something nice to drink. Having picked a cheap bottle of wine you both went to the produce section. As you were picking some carrots and onions you turned to see Jessica with two large melons in front of her small chest. You raised your eyebrow as Jessica asked "Do you like staring at my melons?" She occasionally did a little juvenile humor, but since you didn't exactly like the punchline you decided to rewrite the joke. Instead of staring directly at either set of melons you stared at the numbers representing their sizes. With a small swap later she was holding melons the size of apples at best and carrying melons the size of melons... Although her breasts were a bit less symmetrical now...
"They're rather small..." You said
"I know right?!? And they're being sold by the pound. Let's get them their cute!" You decided to get them as well although that was more so you could keep the size of her regular breasts on hand to swap them back later. As she passed you the melons you then thought for a second at how your hands were encompassing the melons... they were Jessica's breasts sized and your fingers tensed for a second. The Melons were in fact Melons and thus weren't that grope-able, but still... Jessica leaned in and said "You know I don't think testing a melon's firmness really tells you anything."
You jumped a bit and said "I know it's..." how would you ever explain the power to her. Reality alters a bit when you use the power so... Would she think you were crazy? Then again you never really told anyone about this power of yours, just that you were really good at estimations. Perhaps if you told her something could change... The explanation was on the tip of your tongue but you decided to hold it till the two of you were back home. You finished your grocery date by paying for the groceries and pocketing the change.
"What do you do with the change? I rarely see you use them or see a collection jar or whatever."
You smirked saying "I have a lot of uses for change." they were after all easy ways to manipulate a number such as "The amount of coins in my hand."
Getting back home the two of you were starting to wash the produce when you said "Say, Jessica what would you think if I said I had a super power that no one could realize?"
"Oh?" Jessica asked starting to play around with the idea "Like you can teleport anywhere but you teleport back in an instant?"
"Nah, like I can swap numbers around but reality shifts."
"What? Like some sorta hacker?"
"No... like..." You held up a small potato in one hand and two small potatoes in the other and said "So you know how many potatoes I have in my hands right?"
"Yeah? 1 and 2."
"Well... I can change that with my power."
Jessica took one of the potatoes from your hand and placed it in the other and said "So can I." here came the moment of truth as she was staring at your hand you willed the numbers of potatoes in your hand to switch. from the 1/2 Jessica had made them 2/1, and you forced them back to 1/2. Jessica looked at your hand for a second, but how did she react?
