The first full week in October was bringing cool temperatures and windy weather to Lyre and Animalia, and summer was slowly but surely coming to an end. For most people, especially those in schools, one thing about fall to look forward to was Fall Break, even though some considered it one of the 'lesser breaks' in School. Though some would be taking advantage of a few days off from school.
"Miles," said Mrs. Cox, who was one of the workers in the main office at WSA, "Make sure you get your permission passes stamped before you leave for Fall Break.
"Why?" asked Miles, a little surprised at this.
"You've been invited to Miss Renard-Argente's estate to do some coverage there, meet/interview the new students, and do some coverage of Belle's Bêtes." answered Mrs. Cox, "Just try not to lose all your money there."
"...right." said Miles, shrugging and heading off to class.

Other plans were a little more unusual, to say the least.
"So, Dennis," Asked Francesca politely while trying to keep a straight face. "How are things between you and Diega?"
"Moving a little faster than I'd like." replied Dennis, a little raggedly.
"Ooh, she put you through the wringer yet?" joked Francesca.
"No," said Dennis, irritated. "Those stamina building classes at Claw Coliseum are murder if you're not used to them, and snakes and Snake Animalians are reputed to have mating rituals that are several hours long."

There was also an official Sneak Peek of Spookyville 2022, and an official warning from the DEA about Rainbow Fentanyl being disguised as candy, especially because Halloween was coming up.
The preview mentioned a "scavenger hunt" while also mentioning the series "When Worlds Collide...", which many were touting as "Game of Thrones, but good." The article also mentioned the now infamous time Coors Light Canada tried to use a scavenger hunt as an advertising gimmick, only for one prize-filled briefcase, which had been left at an intersection, ended up halting the evening commute due to being examined by a local bomb squad.
The official warning about Rainbow Fentanyl not only covered official news about Rainbow Fentanyl, but it also covered infamous stories of tainted Halloween candies leading to severe illness and death. It also included a list of what to look for both for candies that had been tainted with, what Rainbow Fentanyl looked like in "candy form", and other things that were tied to Fentanyl.
