Mary Elise's big Halloween idea

added by O 11 months ago O Magic

Making their way to homeroom Nat and Rei were relieved to have finally found a solution to their Amara problem. Their idea had worked, Amara had provided Nat and Spark with positive dreams while feeding. Finally the group could rest peacefully and Amara wouldn't starve. Still, it didn't mean that all was forgiven.

Mary Elise now found herself at ground zero, watching as Spark and Amara traded barbs in her homeroom.

"Hey demon bitch," Spark yelled, extending her middle fingers. "Bite me!"

"Kiss my ass dust skank," Amara countered. "Keep running your mouth, its all you're good at!"

Mary Elise sighed, gazing at this rather odd group before her. Whether they wanted to hear it or not the group was connected. Maybe not so much in friendship but in a way that had brought them closer. Even if that closeness meant a fight would break out at any moment. "Ladies," she sighed. "Can we please settle down. I haven't even finished my coffee."

The girls now grumbled, taking their seats as they glared at one another. Spark sitting on one side with Amara on the other. Nat and Rei now sat in the middle, neither girl thrilled to be sitting near Amara, but having far less animosity towards the Mara than Spark. Mary Elise now gazed at the girls, hoping her idea would help the teens bury the hatchet.

"Girls," she stated. "Id like to introduce you to my fiance Sebastián." The teens now looked towards the door, watching as a bespeckled dark haired man in his mid twenties enter the room. "Sebastián is actually pursuing his doctorate. He's hoping to become a professor at the University when he's finished."

"He a wizard too," Amara asked, to which Mary and Sebastián nodded. Amara frowned casting the two young adults an incredulous look. "So he's a wizard and a doctor, like a certain comic book character? And you thought my name was a little too on the nose."

Mary Elise frowned, noticing Sebastián blush ever so slightly as he fidgeted with his collar. "May I continue," she said sternly, Amara shrugging her shoulders. "I've been telling Sebastián about what's going on and he gave me an idea that could hopefully help you four work out your problems."

"If it involves the multiverse I'm not interested," Amara called.

Mary Elise sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. It was now Sebastián he stepped forward, a warm smile on his face despite Amara's backhanded comments. "So," he said. "How many of you are familiar with the schools Halloween tradition?" The teens shrugged, none of them having heard of it before.

"Okay," Sebastián continued. "Years past the school would setup a Haunted House, mostly for the middle and elementary schools. It was kind of a fundraiser for the school and a fun activity. Mary and I actually helped run it back when we were in high school."

"That sounds like fun Ms. McKinnon," Nat stated. "But I'm still not following."

"The thing is that the haunted house was canceled due to Covid over the past couple of years," Mary Elise stated. "Its making a comeback this year."

"And when your teacher told me," Sebastián added. "I thought she would have alot of fun as the teaching advisor."

"Um congratulations Md. McKinnon," Rei replied. "I'm sure it will turn out great but why tell us?"

"Because I still need students to help run it," Mary Elise smirked. "And Sebastián gave me the perfect idea of who should volunteer." The teens gave their teacher a curious look, slowly realizing what their teacher was insinuating.

"No way," Spark exclaimed. "You can't, we won't do it!"

"I'm not giving you a choice girls," Mary Elise smirked. "So unless you four feel like sitting in detention and being saddled with extra homework for the next month, then you four are going to have to work together."

"This is bullshit," Amara yelled. "Your blackmailing us."

"No worse than you feeding on people's dreams Amara," Mary Elise stated. "And I'm pretty sure the Morelands would be interested to here about the presence of a nightmare demon. How do you think they would react?"

Amara paled slightly, furrowing her brow at the auburn haired woman. Soark now smiled, turning to Mary Elise. "So you got cat girl doesn't mean I have to help."

"True," Mary Elise stated. "But I already got Connor to volunteer. His parents thought it sounded like a wonderful Idea, giving back to the school like that. So, Spark if you want to see Connor then it would be in your best interest to help out."

Spark balked, grunting in annoyance as she sank into her chair. "You suck sometimes teach!"

"Um Ms. McKinnon," Rei asked timidly. "What about Nat and me? Do we have to help out? I mean we haven't done anything wrong."

"True," Mary Elise stated. "But, I came up with an incentive. If you both volunteer, Sebastián and I will teach you how to control your magic. We both know what it's like starting out with spell casting. The two of us can help you get better with your spell casting."

Nat and Rei glanced at one another, while neither girl really wanted to work with Amara, the prospect of becoming more proficient with their magic was certainly an appealing option. Reluctantly the two teens now agreed, casting a weary glance in Amara's direction.

"Excellent," Mary Elise smiled. "Trust me girls I think you're going to have a great time." Nat and her friends now cast a dubious look at one another, seriously doubting their teachers scheme.
