“Ok. Ok. We can figure this out.” You say.
“Any ideas?” Red asks.
“No. I’m not sure how to find her or the zipper. It’s possible there’s another one at the magic shop.”
“That’s possible. In the meantime your Amy.”
You think once again about how you have known Amy for years, and the two of you being friends as long as you can remember. It feels weird to be her.
“This is strange.”
“Yeah”
“But it is what it is. I will need to be Amy until this situation is resolved. There is an issue though.”
“That is?”
“Neither Amy or I work, we are taking a gap year, but my parents will expect to see me again and Amy’s parents may be surprised that is acting weird.”
“Whatever. It could also be that you don’t exist anymore until you’re outside of Amy?”
“Hmm. It’s worth a try.” You get your phone out of Amy’s purse and use your face recognition. It works.
“Ok. That is saddening. But I’m Amy now.”
“Yep”
You look at yourself in the mirror again. Five foot five without boots, 110-120 lbs, light blue eyes that usually have red contacts, neon purple hair that almost reaches your shoulders. You fell asleep in your clothes last night. You see your Black lipstick is smudged on your face. You are still wearing a studded dog collar, a low cut T-shirt displaying her collar around your throat, complete with a skull and crossbones dog tag that said 'Amy' on it, and some impressive cleavage in a purple bra, a plaid mini-skirt, and fishnet stockings.
“The magic store disappeared after I left it. I may be Amy long term. I’d like to try out some other fashion options besides Goth. Would you like to join me for a shopping trip?”
“Absolutely,” Red replied.
