"All things considered, I think we should approach Spike first," said Jezebel.
"I would have thought you'd want to pick Lucas first," said Renata.
"It's more about getting Spike before anyone else gets her first," said Jezebel, "The vampires have been a bit more active lately and I wouldn't be surprised if the werewolves will want to do a recruitment drive in response. Also, I've heard that there are some werehyenas moving in. So we need to grab Spike before someone claims her first. Besides, nobody's going to claim Lucas any time soon unless the werewolves are more desperate."
"Wait, werehyenas are herms," said Ruby, "Couldn't they recruit Lucas?"
"Men typically don't adjust well to being werehyenas, especially since they're automatically at the bottom of the pack," said Jezebel.
"But I'm sure Lucas will jump at the chance to become a werefox later," said Ruby, "His dating prospects aren't very high here."
"Yep, that's what happens when a clan of lesbian vampires lives here for a few generations," said Jezebel.
With that, the three of them approached Spike, who was busy working on her latest tag. It was a bit hard to see what it was yet, though it involved plenty of purple. "Watcha working on?" asked Renata.
Spike glared at them and snapped, "You gonna bust me?"
"Not at all," said Jezebel, "This place could use a little bit of touching up."
"In fact, your spirit would be ideal for our little...club," said Ruby.
"What kind of club?" asked Spike suspiciously.
Renata leaned in and whispered, "What if we told you that we're two werefoxes and a succubus?"
"Do I look like the kind of girl who does that roleplaying crap?" asked Spike.
"It's not roleplaying, it's the real deal," said Ruby. Looking around to make sure no one was looking, she quickly changed. As a werefox is smaller than other werecanines, she didn't need to strip first. Spike got a good look of her ears becoming pointed while her face grew out into a muzzle. Almost as soon as she shifted, she changed back. "See?"
Spike was certainly surprised by that. "You really are a werewolf," she said.
"Werefox," said Ruby, a little annoyed, "Enormous difference."
"And we can offer you the ability to become one yourself," said Renata.
"Do I get superpowers? Is there a catch?" asked Spike.
"Well, you'll be faster, your senses of hearing and smelling will be stronger, but you won't really get superpowers, not like the comics would let you believe," said Jezebel, "Also, you'll have a bad reaction to silver, but it's not instantly fatal."
"And being a werefox comes with its own problems," said Renata, "Werefoxes tend to be promiscuous, mischievous, sticky-fingered, and hate staying around for too long."
"Ok, so what's the catch?" asked Spike.
"That was the catch," said Renata, 'There's an inhibitor potion for suppressing the worst of your new instincts."
"Doesn't sound too bad," said Spike, "So, you gotta bite me or something?"
"No, it just involves a little ritual," said Ruby.
"We're looking for more members, so let us know if you know anyone who'd like to become a werefox," said Renata.
"I'll keep that in mind," said Spike before turning back to her tag.
The trio walked away. "Ok, that was easy," said Jezebel.
"Some people are just born to be werefoxes," said Ruby, "And I don't mean those who have werefox parents."
"Ok, so shall we invite Lucas next?" asked Renata, "We can change more than one person at a time, right."
"Between the belt and the brush, we should," said Jezebel, "We could give Flora a try. Like I said, there's no rush to get Lucas."
"Yeah, I'm sure he'll want to join a skulk filled with bisexual vixens," said Ruby before pausing, "Uh, Spike is bi, right?"
"Maybe, but that's not important right now," said Jezebel, "Shall we find more potential werefoxes?"
