"Kyle, I dare you to act completely subservient to your mother. You will enthusiastically do anything she asks of you and say nice things to her at any opportunity. The more you behave this way, the more attracted your mother will be to you. As her attraction to you increases, she will also become more nurturing and protective toward you, treating you like a little boy. This will continue until she takes you out of school altogether, and you will be homeschooled and live as her submissive lover. Of course you'll be humiliated by this, but never able to fight against it, no matter how emasculating it is. But what you'll hate the most is how much you love your new life. The other people in your life will naturally be disgusted by your lifestyle and ridicule you for it, but will never try to stop you or legally reprimand you." Jennifer paused, letting the weight of her words sink in.
"Wow," Kyle chuckled nervously, "that's some sick fantasy you have Jennifer. Look, sorry for bugging you, but you're taking this joke way too seriously."
"You'll soon find out it's no joke at all," Jennifer countered. "Maybe you'll think twice before trying to manipulate people with magic you don't understand. You'll have other things on your mind anyway." And with that she hung up.
Kyle set down the phone turned back to his friends Liam and Corey, who had been listening intently. "What was all that about," Liam asked.
"Nothing," Kyle replied, "she's just more of a sick fuck than I realized. And she calls me a freak."
"Yeah, she got really into that barking," Corey said. "It was really convincing. Bet you that comes out in the bedroom."
They all laughed hysterically, but Kyle found his thoughts wandering. He remembered his mother had asked him to wash the dishes earlier. He had put it off all afternoon and really needed to attend to it now, he thought. It was disrespectful to his mom to ignore it any longer, especially with all she had done for him over the years. He got up and moved to the door.
"Hey sorry guys, I have to go do some chores."
"Why now," said Corey. "We were just going to start a new game."
"Yeah," Liam chimed in, "Just put it off until later like you usually do."
"Sorry, you guys can start without me. I'll come in later or start the next one. I just put it off too long." Kyle left the room, leaving his friends bewildered. He thought about Jennifer's curse as he descended the stairs. It wasn't it actually affecting him, was it? This was just the right thing to do, right? After all, this was his mother's home and she made the rules.
