"Lainey and Logan," said Renata. "Two skulkmates for the price of one, you see." Ruby and Jezebel nodded, following Renata over to the pair across the street.
Renata whispered into Lainey's ear. "Psst! Lainey, it's me, Renata. I'd really like to talk to you and Logan somewhere quieter. It's sorta important."
Lainey nodded, whispered something to Logan, and dragged her boyfriend after Renata. Renata led the pair to a quiet corner of a public park. "This place seems safe enough," Renata said, glancing around. "Good, we're alone. Anyway, these are my friends Jezebel and Ruby. You already know Jez, but Ruby's family's new to town. The three of us have a huge secret we wanna share with you two."
"Oh?" asked Logan. "What is it?"
Renata paused, pondering how to frame this. "Do either of you... believe in magic?"
"Not me," Logan chuckled, "but Lainey's crazy about horoscopes, crystals, psychics, and superstitious crap like that."
"Hey, you don't know healing crystals don't work," said Lainey. "Wearing an amethyst necklace always seems to help with my anxiety."
"My skulk's shaman would agree with you, Lainey," said Ruby.
Logan raised his eyebrow. "Skulk? Shaman?"
Ruby laughed. "Yeah, that's our huge secret. Rennie and I are werefoxes, and Jez is a succubus."
"That's right," said Renata. "I was a human like you until I met Ruby, and she helped me find a witch who showed me how to become a werevixen like her. Now that I'm a werevixen, I'm planning to start my own skulk. I was hoping you'd join."
"What's it like?" Lainey asked excitedly. "Tell me all about werefox life!"
"You like raising a little hell, right?" Jezebel asked, snickering a bit at her choice of words. "Well, were foxes don't just like raising hell. They goddamn love it."
"Yeah," said Ruby. "We're creatures of whimsy and impulse. We follow the ever-changing fancies of our wild hearts wherever they lead. Our wanderlust leads us on a never-ending series of nomadic adventures around the world, and our mysterious magnetism ensures that we have no shortage of lovers to satisfy our potent libidos."
"Really?" Logan asked, sounding intrigued by the last part.
"Yeah," Ruby nodded. "Only a complete aromantic asexual could hope to resist a werefox. We've got a certain je ne sais quoi that makes us totally freaking irresistible. Good thing too, since we're super horny."
"That'd be a sweet change," said Logan. "You have no idea how hard a time I had finding a girlfriend in this town full of lesbians. I'm so lucky that Lainey was just bi."
"Blame the local lesbian vampire clan," said Jezebel. "Something just gets into the air. But yeah, you're in for a good time in this skulk. Rennie's focusing on recruiting bi girls and guys of just about any orientation. Plus, you can count on a certain pansexual succubus dropping in to do what she does best!" She winked roguishly at Logan.
Renata raised her hand. "I should probably warn you two that there are drawbacks."
"Such as?" asked Lainey.
"Werefoxes' mischievous nature is usually so potent that it's almost uncontrollable," Renata explained. "They're mega-impulsive and don't really think about consequences of what they can realistically pull off, which gets a lot of werefoxes into trouble. Werefoxes can also be a little self-centered, doing what they want, not considering how it might hurt others."
"Yeah," Ruby said, a little guilty, "like how I broke up with my vampire girlfriend with a text and skipped town with the skulk. I never thought she'd take it so personally. Poor Valeria."
"Good example," said Renata. "But don't let that put you off! There's a witch in town who sells a potion that fortifies your impulse control and empathy so you can avoid pathologically doing stupid, self-destructive crap. Ruby doesn't trust it, but I personally swear by it."
"Sounds good," said Lainey. "I like a little misadventure, but I don't wanna go to prison or anything."
"I'm still not sure all this is real," Logan said, stroking his chin. "Any chance you guys can prove you're what you say you are?"
Renata nodded. "Okay, girls! Time to show off our real bodies!"
With that, the three of them began to shapeshift. Renata and Ruby's skin began to grow pelts of red and white fur, while Jezebel's skin turned pale red. Renata and Ruby's feet then stretched out into paws and their fingernails sharpened into vulpine claws. At the same time, a pair of twisting goat horns burst from Jezebel's skull.
"Holy shit!" Logan gasped. Lainey, meanwhile just gazed at the transforming girls with a transfixed smile on her face.
Renata and Ruby moaned in arousal as fluffy tails grew out of their lower backs and their boobs and butts filled out. Jezebel now had a prehensile forked tail that was wrapping itself around her pale red thigh. Demonic claws grew from her fingers and toes.
"Are you seeing this, Logan?!" Lainey chirped excitedly. "Aren't they sexy?!"
"Y...yeah," Logan choked out, still a bit dumbfounded. "They... they sure are."
Renata and Ruby's heads began to change. Their faces pushed out into vulpine muzzles filled with sharp, carnivorous teeth. The two girls' noses turned leathery and black as they took on a truffle-like shape. Their ears climbed up to the tops of their heads and grew pointed. At the same time, Jezebel's own teeth sharpened into piranha-like fangs as her eyes turned golden and catlike, complete with slit pupils. To finish the succubus's transformation, a pair of enormous bat wings unfurled behind her.
Renata struck a sexy pose. "Well, how do we look?"
"Gorgeous!" Lainey shouted. "I almost wanna fivesome with you and Logan right now!"
"Not in a public park," Renata laughed.
"Aw!" Ruby groaned. "Spoilsport!"
Logan inspected the three transformed girls. "Incredible! I never would've believed it if you hadn't showed me. And... and you can help Lainey and me shapeshift like this?"
"Sure," said Renata. "I've got a magic foxskin belt that creates new werefoxes. I'm gathering a bunch of new skulk recruits at Flora Roberts' home for transformation either tonight or tomorrow. I'll let you know when if you're interested."
"I think I just may be," said Logan. "Especially if Flora shares her weed with us. Hey, canine dicks have knots, right? Is that a thing with werefoxes?"
"Yeah," said Ruby. "I tried out a potion that gives you a temporary cock last night. I got myself stuck inside of Jez for a while."
"I can think of worse things than having you stuck in me, Logan," Lainey winked. "I'm in!"
"If Lainey's in, then so am I," said Logan.
"Great!" said Renata. "I'll let you know when I'm ready to make the transformations. See ya!"
"Bye!" Lainey said. She and Logan then left the park to head back to Vodka Voodoo Bar & Grill.
Renata and her friends shifted back into their human forms and returned to the shopping center to find Paige. Renata spotted the master shoplifter walking into a Hot Topic for her next pilfering session. Renata also spotted her classmate Taylor hanging out by the pet store. Renata recalled that nature-loving Taylor was some kind of Wiccan or neo-pagan. Maybe she'd find an alternative lifestyle like being a werefox appealing?
