After they woke up the next day, Elaine asked Cassie, "Do you still feel the same as you did last night?"
"Yeah, I do," Cassie said. "That's... that's still OK, right?"
"Of course it is!" Elaine replied, kissing her and hugging her close.
Later that day, Elaine helped Cassie pick out lots of new clothes from a clothes shop. Cassie felt too shy to ask for help, so Elaine talked to the people at the store for her, and the ensemble she came out with made her feel really cute.
For a few tough days, Cassie went back to work like nothing had happened, pretending to be a man. But one day, when she came home, Elaine sat her down and said, "I have some big news. If you aren't happy about it, it's OK, we can still fix it, but I need you to know now."
"Yeah?" Cassie said apprehensively.
Elaine took out a small plastic stick and Cassie's eyes widened. "Cassie, I'm pregnant," she whispered.
Cassie's stomach quickly set about tying itself in knots. "Do you want to keep it?" she asked.
"If you're OK with it," Elaine smiled.
Cassie gently pulled Elaine into a hug, and came to a decision she shared with her partner on the spot. "I think I wanna transition," she said. "We're gonna be the best moms a kid could have!"
"Definitely," Elaine giggled. "I love you so much, babe. I wanna be with you every step of the way!"
And Elaine absolutely was. The very next day, they both went to get Cassie signed up for HRT and she started doing voice feminisation. The next 9 months weren't perfect, obviously, but getting to see how both their bodies were changing was magical. While Ty grew inside Elaine and she got to see and feel herself become more of a mother, Cassie got to see herself become more obviously a woman. Her skin became softer, her appearance became more feminine so even without makeup she looked more girlish, she got a higher-pitched voice which Elaine thought was way cuter too, and she grew breasts which her partner got great enjoyment out of playing with when they both wanted to.
At last, one day Elaine went into labour, and her partner was on hand, reassuring her she was really proud of her and she could do this. And slowly she birthed Ty back into the world.
