The group had been relieved to find Ms McKinnon awake and well again, though she had been in her nightmare scenario a little longer than the rest of them. Sebastián was comforting her as the teens all sat down around with each other and ate some candy to help relieve the tension.
"Amara?" Spark said looking up at Amara and taking a deep breath.
"I'm sorry I've been such...well I'll just admit it, I've been pretty bitchy to you. I know a little more about the supernatural than my friends and I was just worried for them." Spark apologized.
"It's okay Spark, I just...never really met people like you all before. I've been alone for so long, no friend or family to my name, basically an orphan. I didn't think I'd ever find friends...or love." Amara said as she laid her head on Miranda's shoulder and Miranda in turn kissed her on the head.
"Aw, that's so sweet." Rei said as she held Nat's hand. Nat was still getting over drinking blood for the first time. It frightened her to think that she had tasted blood for the first time and wanted to do everything she could to ever avoid it again.
Nat didn't realize before that Amara had actually been homeless. Her mom had let her keep her as a cat, now she wondered if she would consider adopting Amara into the family. She had told her mom sometimes that she would like a sister.
"I think we all should give thanks to Amara for helping us get out of our nightmares." Rei noted.
"Well, that's very kind of you all, but you should give cheers to Miranda. She actually helped me out of my nightmare." Miranda told them all.
"Awesome sis, how did you get out of yours?" Miles asked.
"That...thing pretended to be Mamá. In my nightmare, she even hit me." Miranda explained as Miles looked shocked.
"Mamá would never do that to you." Miles reassured her.
"I know, that's what got me out of it. I know my Mamá."
"Miles, what did you see?" Amara asked.
"It's kind of something I've been dealing with lately. You all have someone, but I'm still single and the nightmare versions of you all told me I would be alone the rest of my life." Miles explained.
"Don't give up hope, you'll find someone." Connor reassured his friend.
"Yeah, you know, my Aunt Violetta said she was thinking about visiting again soon?" Rei said with a wink.
"Did...uh...did she ask about me?" Miles asked embarrassingly.
"Maybe." Rei teased.
Everyone began to laugh now, as the laughing died down, Connor wrapped his arm around Spark. Spark looked over at Connor and knew something was up.
"Excuse us guys, we need to have a private talk." Spark said as she and Connor got up and walked a little ways away from the group.
"Okay, what's going on? You're a little...sadder right now than usual." Spark mentioned.
"It's...it doesn't matter." Connor replied trying to walk off.
"Connor. I'm your girlfriend, I know when something's wrong."
"My nightmare was....you saying you never really loved me. That everything we've been through was nothing but an act. It really hit me deep." Connor admitted.
"Connor, I wasn't sure what I felt at first. I thought it was just a crush, but the more I hung out with you, the more I fell in love with you. It all meant something to me and I'm going to cherish every moment we've spent up to this moment and the moments after. I love you Connor Jacob Moreland and don't you forget it." Spark declared as she wrapped her arms around Connor and kissed him on the lips.
"Damn, you're a great kisser." Connor complimented as Spark gave a slight smirk.
"Nat, what was that thing anyway?" Rei asked her girlfriend.
"It said it was a shade, a shadow demon that feeds on life energy." Nat explained to the group.
"It was actually afraid of me because I'm part vampire, he thought they'd all left. By the way, Connor, do you know who....Lord Wyatt is?" Nat asked.
"Yeah, he's the lord of vampires now. Don't worry, he won't be coming by here any time soon, I've got good assurance on that." Connor reassured them all.
"Well, I think after all this, maybe you kids could set up the haunted house again for the school? I think we need a little more fun after all the frights." Ms McKinnon suggested.
"I'm game for that, how about you Miranda?" Amara said sticking a twizzler out of her mouth as Miranda at the other end and ate the rest of it until she reached Amara's lips and smirked.
"Happy Halloween, mi amor." Miranda said as she finished eating the twizzler and kissed Amara as the two of them wrapped their arms around each other while the rest ate candy and some of the others did kiss as well.
