Todd looked at the pile of clothes and began to feel bad for the woman turned molecule. He moved to the growth section of the body tab and set her to grow 100 times her size, but when he pressed the 'apply' button a pop up appeared on screen. "Target Not Found", it read and Todd began to worry. Perhaps the preset was for a regular sized person, though when he made the remote he hadn't been thinking of every detail. He selected her name, trying to restore her default setting, but was given the same error as before. Moving the remote right up to the pile, he pressed her name again. Not only did it give him the same pop up, but her name erased from the device altogether. He started to panic and left the apartment, deadset on finding a way to reverse what he had done.
Shannon stood in place as her shrinking slowed to a stop, the "new" world around her mezmarizing her. She saw the individual strings of fabric the size of buildings around her, shooting out in all different directions as they becane interwoven together. She stood on a fabric of the bedsheet her clothes surrounded her on, gazing up at her new sky. She took a few steps backwards, not watching for an edge, and she fell. Her body, now extremely light, fell slowly downwards, through the bedsheet and the bed. She fainted before landing, which was a long time away, and she bounced between several anatomical pillars of all types of microscopic materials. The machine that had changed her was not used again before she had fallen, and because of this she had fallen out of its range.
Forced to travel the world as prey to any wandering bacteria, Shannon slept with frightened candor haunting here dreams as her body awaited another call from the device. A call that may never come.
