You are David, a 21 year old collage graduate who despite going to college have no idea what you want to do with your life and are currently still living with your parents. They are getting sick of taking care of you however and want you to get off your but and find a job however lacking motivation you would rather take the easy way out. It's at this moment that you see it, an add that was sent to you via email. Normally you don't take any stock to these kind of adds but then you see that it's to test some sort of new machine that they are developing and it promises a payout of 10 million dollars to every participant with travel expenses and amenities paid for.
"It sounds too good to be true" you tell yourself and decide to look into it further, however as soon as you do you are greeted with a lengthy document that explains everything about their company in detail. Not wanting to read through the whole thing you just decide to sign up for the test as reading was never your strong suit. You were never considered verry manly for your whole life being extremely chubby and lazy all the time, Figuring this might be a way to change all that you just lie and wait for them to call you back.
Within an hour of sending them your contact info you hear the phone ring, thinking it would be odd if they called you back this soon you dismiss the phone and just let your mom answer it, but then a moment later you hear her calling for you saying the phone is for you. You jump out of your bed and head out there to answer it.
"Hello?" you ask a little nervously
"yes! is this David?" a lady on the other end asks you
"yes this is David"
"great! I'm calling you back about your recant application to help us test our newest machine, do you remember doing that?"
Considering you put the application in an hour ago you just roll your eyes and reply "yes i do"
"great" the lady reply's "as you may already know from the document..."
but then you cut her off right there "listen ma'am I'm not interested in the logistics, how soon can i get paid?"
you hear a slight scoff on the other end but the lady does not address it and just simply says "we will send someone to pick you up tomorrow at 7 am then."
you sigh and reply "great" before hanging up the phone.
You then decide to get some rest seeing as how it's already pretty late but before you can your mother stops you "who was that on the phone dear?"
"nothing important" you reply
"oh, I was hoping you had gotten an interview with someplace" she says slightly defeated
"well I do need to go into the doctors for a checkup" you tell her not wanting to worry about you "I will probably be gone for most the day tomorrow"
"oh no, did you catch a fever?" she asks
"no nothing like that, just a routine checkup" you reassure her
"ok then, I hope it goes well" she replies before going into the living room.
Not wanting her to worry that you signed up for some sketchy experiment rather than getting a real job you then head to your room and get ready for tomorrow.
