"Dude, you sure those are the real thing?"
David rolled his eyes at his friend, Michael's, question, namely because it was the about the tenth time he had asked it that afternoon. "Of course they are," David replied, the exasperation apparent in his voice. "I told you that I got them off a trusted site on the Internet. They're the same drug as the 'New You' pills."
David had invited his three best friends over for the weekend to experiment with these new pills. Despite being aged in range between 13-15, the three of them had experimented with illicit substances in the past. They'd smoked some weed, drank some beer, the kind of shit that any middle schooler with a penchant for trouble making might get into. But this was a step up in terms of their game. David had managed to acquire four "New You" pills from a black market pharmacy on the Internet. Normally you needed to be 21 or older to buy these things, given how volatile they could be. But a little computer hacking and "borrowing" his older cousin's credit card number gave him the cover that he needed.
David looked at the 4 generic looking pills and the additional gray-Contra pills that came with them, to ensure they could return to normal. Since David's parents were away for the weekend, he had planned it so that he and his friends would turn into adult versions of themselves. The plan then was to go clubbing for the weekend before transforming back Sunday night in time for school the next morning. David was especially curious to see what puberty would do for him. He was a scrawny 13 year old with little muscle mass, unkempt sandy blonde hair and thick coke bottle glasses. He certainly was what you would term a nerd.
His friends were cut from much the same cloth. Michael was an overweight nerd with short black hair and an obsession over anything anime. Charles was the "jock" of the group, though that basically meant that he could barely play basketball at a decent clip, though certainly only at a JV level. Ty was the most normal of the bunch and the most popular. Frankly he had kind of moved on from his childhood friends, and simply hung out with them out of obligation more than anything. As the four of them stood looking at the pills, he was the first to chime in. "So what are we waiting for," he asked, "Let's take these and get on with it."
"Hang on," Charles replied, "I want to see these transformations for myself." Charles had been speculative of the whole concept of New You, considering it some sort of conspiracy or mass hypnosis. "People don't spontaneously transform like magic," he had said several times before, despite the video evidence to the contrary. At his declaration, Charles stripped down to his boxer shorts before picking up his pill.
"I'm not getting naked," Ty replied, though he seemingly was outvoted. Michael quickly followed suit with Charles' lead (David had wondered if maybe Michael was gay, though the subject had never really been broached). With a shrug of his shoulders, David slipped down to his underwear as well. Sighing, Ty gave up the fight and followed suit, also grabbing his pill. Without waiting anymore, all four of them tossed the pill in their mouth and took a long gulp of water.
After a few minutes, nothing had happened. "Told ya they were duds," Michael replied, before suddenly stopping as he felt a lurch in his stomach. "Uh guys, did you feel that?"
David did feel the lurch in his gut, and wondered exactly the pills would do to them...
