That morning, Jay and Dan felt unusual.They felt as if something were different about themselves.Both Jay and Dan secretly felt smaller, although when comparing themselves to the other friend, their perspective looked the same.
After a busy day of fishing, they decided they'd go for one last walk before heading back home. That's when their next change hit them. As if they had planned it together, they both stopped dead in their tracks and held onto the nearest tree to regain their balance.
After composing himself, it was then that Dan noticed his watch, that was placed tightly around his wrist fall loose on his wrist.
Jay's shoes were very loose. They wobbled at little as he started walking again. Both feeling uncomfortable, they decided to cancel the walk and go home earlier.
When they got to the car, Dan's fears were realised more when he had to move the car seat up one notch. It may have been just a mistake from the day before, but things just didn't feel right.
The trip home was a quiet one. Both boys said nothing to each other the whole way. Both were in deep thought about what was happening to them. Jay kept thinking that he'd work it all out when he got home. Dan kept talking it down to himself.
When they got inside, at least they'd know they feel big near their shrimp of a room mate Sean. As they got in they saw him sitting in front of the tv.
"so shrimp, got that homework finished for us?" Dan said as he stormed though the door. As he said this he could tell something was different about Sean. He somehow looked bigger. It wasn't until he stood up that he realised the real change.
Both Sean and Dan looked surprised when they were facing each other eye to eye.
"sorry boys. I didn't get around to doing it. I thought it would be much more rewarding if you did them yourself."
It was then that Jay had come up the stairs, with the rest of the gear. When he saw the two boys standing next to each other he dropped everything and stood there with his mouth open wide. Dan must have been feeling the same as his expression was quite similar. Sean casually walked up to Jay. He noticed he was a good two inches taller than him. He could almost see the top of his head.
"Someone's looking shrimpy" he mocked as he left to go to the bathroom. When in there he couldn't help but start laughing. Finally his dream was being realised. And it was only the beginning.
