“How about we just drop it,” Josh says. “Sounds good,” Jesse replies.
They walk outside to see many of the boys already out and about on the various amusements. Jesse looks around and notices nearly all the boys are wearing hats.
“Where to?” Josh asks. Jesse scratches at his ears under his hat. “Maybe we should head home.”
“Head home?” an attendant chimes in wheeling over a cooler, “why go home, why ever go home again?” The attendant hands each of them a cold beer. Josh is quick to accept his and takes a big drink. “Come on Jesse, we’ll just stay a little longer.”
Jesse sighs and takes the beer from the attendant, who smiles and continues along handing out the drinks to other boys. Jesse pops the top and takes a slurp. He stands savoring the taste for a moment. “Yeah, it’ll be fun,” Jesse smiles.
Josh agrees and the two walk off toward the boardwalk.
