From his body, a wave of magic spread like a tidal wave all across the world. A wave of blue which engulfed everyone in bubbles and water, with the sound of waves crashing. Cities near seas became underwater, those near rivers became fresh water marine locations.The cites in deserts became oasis peopled by water people. The great towers of the cities of Arabia were replaced by luxuriant, humid, stones versions of themselves, if not sunk under the sea to become great coral reefs. The Eiffel Tower became a stone construction emerging from a great overflowing river. The Statue of Liberty now represented a mermaid. Communications were lost as suddenly phones and the Internet vanished. Magic would replace them over time but it would have to be learned again. By those who could because the transformations meant that an easy third of humanity was lost to animal shapes. They became dolphins, sharks, fish and other sea creatures, the most despicable members of humankind transforming into sea cucumbers, crabs or less savory marine animals, or hideous monsters barely retaining some human features. Most people transformed into various water mythological beings, from water nymphs to merpeople, passing by sea dragons or elegant marine creatures. Of course it was hard to adapt to their new environment, but they all would, eventually. As different new species, even if things were extremely hazy at the beginning. A lot of people were left stranded and in difficult situations, but at least their descendants would not have to face that. For them, things would be normal. Ryan could have changed that to help but as he was changed into a dolphin and dolphins cannot utter human words, he was left with no recourse through Gaz. The change promised to be permanent, even for those who had never wished for such a thing. All that was left was to survive, take initiatives and hope for the best as the dominant species was replaced by another, hopefully much better.
