"Honeys, I'm home!" shouted a male voice from the front door. James was confused, because the advertisement hadn't mentioned a male roommate.
"Coming, Magnus," answered Hilda. "Come along, James, you get to meet the man of the house."
"Wait," said James, "man of the house? I thought only you three witches lived here. Who is the Magnus fellow?"
"Why, he's our husband, of course."
"HUSBAND?!"
Hilda softly led James into the living room where the other two witches had gathered together on the sofa. Apparently the women had not told this husband of theirs about the plan to bring a second male into the household, because he seemed very surprised when James entered the room.
"Oh, and just who is THIS gentlemen, might I ask?" huffed a blue-cloaked dark-skinned man who appeared to be in his 80s, with a much stronger voice than James expected to hear.
"It was Hilda and Gilda's idea," said Matilda. Hilda quickly covered Matilda's mouth with one hand.
"Come now, you needn't worry about James, darling," said Gilda. "He's just a young mortal who needed a home. He knows next to nothing about our arts. All the better to practice our magic on, after all. It's only natural that we took him in for the price of what little non-wizarding money he had with him."
"Naked, of course," the wizard sarcastically observed.
"Well, we did tell you we would be getting a new pet," said Gilda.
"Really, we promise we'll keep him with us here with us for company and magical experiments while you're away. You're the only one we need to be seen with in any important capacity, of course," added Hilda.
James could no longer remain silent. "Look," he said, "I think there's been a misunderstanding. I really didn't intend to--"
"HUSH!" all four sorcerers shouted at him.
"Well, then," snarked Magnus, "if this nude man is really your new PET, then you won't mind me making a few CHANGES to make him look more the part?"
"Be our guest," said Hilda. James was rather unnerved. If this people could supernaturally remove his clothes, what else could be done to him?
