After 20 more laps, Bruno was exhausted. He pulled himself out of the pool. He still couldn't communicate with Chad, but at least his erection had finally quit. He was heading toward the sauna, when he ran into Josh.
"What are you doing here?" Both asked simultaneously.
"I was swimming laps," Bruno replied.
He was all wet and looked exhausted.
"Well, I work here!"
"You weren't here a couple hours ago. I heard some noises. Sounded like a door closing. You were nowhere to be found."
"I took a dinner break. Wanted to finish something before the weekend. But you weren't swimming if you were in here then."
"I swim laps. Then go to the sauna, warm up, then swim more laps. Heading to the sauna now."
"Is that a new Speedo?"
Bruno walked closer so Josh could see better. Bruno said, "Same old lucky Speedo, see, Josh!"
Then he brushed passed Josh. Josh just frowned. Chad was a smaller more tapered cut than the traditional Speedo that Bruno was wearing.
Bruno disappeared into the sauna. Josh went back into the locker room. No way could Chad have gotten out of there without help. Josh checked the open nearby lockers. He found a Jolly Rancher wrapper. Rick was always sucking on Jolly Rancher candies. And when Josh left in addition to the Janitor's truck, Coach Sinclair's SUV and Coach Sanchez's old MiniCooper were in the lot. He assumed they were in the main building where they taught History and English grading papers. All were suspects.
Josh hadn't ruled Bruno out yet. Bruno may not be wearing Chad, but maybe in his locker. Josh used the master key. He ransacked Bruno's gear. No Speedo Chad to be found. He relocked Bruno's locker.
He should have been more careful.He reminded himself that whoever took Chad probably didn't know it was anything but a Speedo. Maybe Chad ended up in the lost and found. The locker Bruno stuck Chad in had been unassigned.
