Before anyone could decide who got the first turn on the device, Ricky felt a vibration on his thigh so he took his phone out of his pocket to check what notification he got, it was a message from his friend Sam, she faked being ill so she could get the day off school and was wandering what Max and Ricky were up to.
Sam was a stereotypical tomboy, she had short hair, didn’t wear makeup, only had guy friends and was seen as one of the boys in her friend group, she either wore gender natural or masculine clothes, her and her mom would get in constant arguments around her personality.
“Hey guys, Sam ain’t going to school should I tell her to come over” said Ricky.
Alex’s eyes widened and his face went pale, Sam would often belittle and mock Alex even though she was a girl she picked on him for being weaker and skinnier than her, “y-you m-ean to invite her to m-my house” asked the nervous Alex.
Max knew Alex and Sam didn’t get along “only if that’s ok with you Alex” Alex felt relieved by Max’s kindness, he felt he had some sort of authority in this situation.
Ricky was typing away on his phone “ok she said she’ll be here in 5 minutes”
A scream of shock escaped Alex’s lips “WHAT! You didn’t ask me if I wanted her over”
Ricky rolled his eyes “don’t be lame dude”
Max patted Alex on his shoulder “sorry about that bro”
A few minutes later the three teen boys heard a knock on the door, Alex was anxious because he knew who it was, the three of them walked down to the front door to let Sam in.
They opened the door to see Sam standing there in her pjs and white sneakers, she had her skateboard in one hand and a energy drink in the other “yo what’s up” she said as she let herself in.
Sam throw off her sneakers and dropped her skateboard on the floor carelessly before taking a swig of her energy drink “nice house shorty do you clean it yourself”
A violent red blush crossed Alex’s face, it had only be a few seconds and Sam had already disrespected his house and emasculated him, Alex took a deep breath “No I do not” he responded.
Ricky smirked when he noticed what Sam was wearing “huh did you just roll out of bed”
They began walking upstairs “do you think I would seriously care enough to dress up to meet you guys” she said as she looked at her pyjamas.
“Sam, we got something cool to show you” said Max eagerly.
They got to Alex’s room and Max showed Sam the device, he had explained to her that it can change anything about anyone and the reason Max got it was because he was sick of people mistaking him and Ricky.
“So I just point this thing at me and if I click this button it scans me” said Sam.
“Yeah, it’s that simple” said Max.
Sam pointed the device at herself and clicked the button.
