Watching your fellow college students change into D&D characters was amazing, you weren’t going to miss watching the entire world change.
Ryan all but threw herself down into her gaming chair which was now floating on some kind of crystal and had somehow already been adjusted to fit her now female drow body. Grabbing the remote she turned on the TV and flipped to a news channel.
You normally didn’t watch the news and instead got his now hers news from internet or more commonly he just ignored it. Now however she couldn’t wait to watch the news.
She wasn’t disappointed at the slightest.
It was already breaking news.
“We can now confirm that this isn’t just one wave but at least a dozen waves spreading out across the world from multiple locations around the world.” Said the newsman, with the words breaking news along the bottom. Behind him looked to be New York City but it had become a steam punk version of the city which never sleeps, there where train tracks above the road hovering on magically supported rails. While horse drawn cars replaced the traffic. The buildings itself were made of steel and stone and glass but now a good amount of brass was added. Gears where visible behind glass on the sides of buildings and was that a small zeppelin with the words NYPD on the sides.
“Multiple locations?” Ryan inquired
“I didn’t want people to track the source of the change to one spot so I started the change in around 50 spots around the world.” Explained Gaz in her head. “Most where random spots, but a few I picked to drive people crazy.”
“Such as?” inquired Ryan
“Area 51, the Bermuda triangle, that particle accelerator in France, a military base in China, a research center in Russia and the like.” Explained Gaz “When they track down the sources, most people will believe it is one of those not some random kids dorm room.”
“Thanks.” Said Ryan
“Well I have to protect you, your wish is the funniest I have done in a long time.” Answered Gaz
As Ryan looked up just in time to see the next wave, the one which transforms the people into their new species hit the big apple.
The reporter change, the silver-grey hair on the side of his head turned a deep pure white while the brown he had on the top of his head still turned a deep black. As he began to shrink his cloths changed into a more Victorian style with an overcoat and a pocket watch and all. His body kept shrinking and shrinking even as he tried to give voice to what was happening to him. When it stopped, he was only a couple feet tall and two pointed ears could be seen. He wasn’t an elf; he was far too short and that meant he was likely a Gnome.
The feed cut back to the studio where three reports sat stunned, their world hadn’t changed yet but that quickly changed as a wave washed over them and their desk turned from being made of metal and glass to one of wood. The screens behind them turned into large tapestries, they where still moving showing images from around the world but they where clearly made of fabric of some kind.
“My God.” Said the women as they all sat there dumbfounded for a while before they tried to get a hold of what to do next.
By the time they did the next wave reached them and they began to change.
The black man in the center of the table began to change as his skin turned to scales and he grew in size, his face changing into a harsher appearance before he began to cough as he did a small amount of black liquid came out and landed on the desk making a hissing sound as it landed. He was becoming a black dragon born.
His cloths changed, a metal breast plate appearing over his suit as the symbol of the company appeared in the metal. Chainmail replaced fabric as the hilt of a sword appeared over his right shoulder.
Beside him one of the two women were looking on wide eyed even as her own flesh hardened into something akin to flesh covered bark. Her red hair began to change from hair to a bunch of living leaves while her ears became very long and pointy, far pointer and longer then an elf. Her body was becoming increasingly thinner while her suit turned into a corset made of leaves and bark while a staff appeared beside her on the desk.
Ryan didn’t know what species she was, clearly a fey of some kind and likely a druid given all the nature stuff around her.
The other woman began to change her skin becoming green as she grew. Her nice suit changing into a mixture of leathers and furs as she grew physically stronger. A pair of small tusks began to grow from her mouth even as her chest grew out in size. Her hair stylized itself into a short ponytail while the sides of her head were clean shaven. She even got a few scars which appeared on her face. She still looked semi human which meant she was a half orc which meant she had human and orc bloodline.
“My God.” Yelled the fey woman “What the hell happened to us?”
“What is happening?” said the now Dragonborn man
“Something fucked up.” Said the half orc woman
“This is amazing.” Said Ryan
