Alexis nervously sighed as she got out of her car and started walking towards the shop. She was about to try on some sandals to purchase. Alexis never wore sandals because she was very self conscious about her feet and didn't like having her long toes visible.
Unfortunately, her Greek Philosophy professor said that Alexis must come to class wearing sandals because that is what the Ancient Greeks wore. Alexis had no choice in the matter so she asked her friends what the most comfortable sandals are. All of her friends agreed that Birkenstocks are the most comfortable sandals. She was planning to just order online but saw an for this store saying they have some Birkenstocks available for purchase.
Alexis opened the door to the store and was greeted by an employee. "Hello, ma'am. Are you here to purchase some footwear?" He asked her.
"Yes, I am," Alexis answered with slight hesitation.
"Would you like me to help you find anything?" The employee offered.
"That would be great," Alexis responded. The employee led her to a fitting room where he took out several different shoe boxes containing different types of sandals for Alexis to look through. "Are you looking to buy close toed shoes or sandals?" The employee asked her.
"Sandals," Alexis replied with slight hesitation again. She didn't want to tell him that it's really not what she wanted at all. She is only doing this because of her Ancient Greek professor. The shoe boxes contained seven pairs of different styles of sandals for Alexis to look through.
The employee suddenly commented, "You don't look like a sandal person." Alexis blushed slightly before responding, "Well I wear more athletic shoes but my professor told me to come to class today wearing sandals."
The employee laughed, "Sounds like an interesting professor. Is there a reason you don't wear sandals usually?"
Alexis looked away in embarrassment, "I'm very self conscious about my feet, especially my toes which are very long. And I hate to have my toes exposed when I wear shoes, which is why I never wear sandals."
The employee chuckled loudly before quietly saying, "Well your feet can't look that bad." He paused before adding, "There are a few Birkenstock models you can choose from. There is of course the classic Arizona style, which you have probably seen many girls wearing. You'd probably also look good wearing the Mayari, Yara, Madrid, and Gizeh models." He showed her a pair of each model.
Feeling overwhelmed, Alexis could even contemplate which style she preferred before the employee suddenly said, "Oh and one more thing. The sandals at our store are unique. They are each infused with the essence of a life form, that makes them not only comfort your feet, but comfort your entire body through form alteration." He smirked
Figuring he was just a high hippie trying to sell her some new age bullshit, Alexis didn't think much of it and allowed him to explain the different essences. The Arizona has the essence of a strong and sturdy tree, the Mayari has the essence of a graceful and lightweight bird, the Yara has the essence of a blooming flower, and the Gizeh has the essence of any beast of burden.
