When Leah finished her shower she made her way to her room where she found Tina waiting for her with a small pile of clothing.
"I know you're looking forward to being a toddler for the next to weeks," Tina said, "But we do have one small problem. I don't have anything appropriate for you to wear."
Tina held up the stack of folded clothes, Leah recognized the pullup on top but the rest were unfamiliar.
"I had a quick look through your wardrobe, I hope you don't mind. It seems that almost all of your clothing was designed to make you look older. Can't say I blame you there. Though I do have some questions about a few things in your underwear drawer."
Tina gave Leah a very pointed look. Leah blushed heavily and couldn't bring herself to meet her gaze. She knew exactly what her stepmother was referring to. They had been bought more as a joke and because she was so small they didn't even fit her. Really adult underwear tended not to come in the really small sizes for some reason.
"After a truly exhaustive search I found a few things that will suit your new assumed age. They look like they haven't been worn in some time so I assume they are from when you were younger. You really *haven't* grown much have you?"
Leah blushed some more.
"It's not *my* fault..." she mumbled.
"I know sweetie." Tina assured her. "No one can help how they grow up. But I guess they can help how they grow down?"
She gave Leah a mischievous grin.
"Now then, let's get you dressed and then we can tackle your wardrobe problem."
Tina reached out and unwrapped the towel from around Leah. With the towel being quite large and Leah being quite small it took a couple of turns before it came away. Leah stood there, naked and a bit pink from her recent shower, as Tina looked her over.
"Who was it that changed you at the daycare sweetie? I think I may need to review their observation skills, seeing as how they missed this."
She reached down and gave the sparse hairs on Leah's crotch a gentle tug. Leah squeaked and smacked her hand away.
"No matter," she laughed, "We'll deal with that later."
Tina got down on her knees, unfolded the pullup, and held it out for Leah to step into. Leah did so a bit awkwardly, holding on to Tina's shoulder for balance. Once she had both feet in Tina pulled it up until it fit snugly around her hips. Then she picked up a t-shirt, it was a faded pink and had purple writing on it that said "PR__CES_ P_WER!" several of the letters had fallen off after so many years and washes. Leah hadn't worn the shirt since she was eight, it must have been at the back of her closet and been missed during her purge of anything childish a couple of years back. As she was examining her shirt Tina unfolded a pair of denim bib overalls. Leah knew these, she had kept them to use as workwear while doing yardwork or painting. Things that she hadn't actually done so the overalls had stayed on a hanger in the darker corner of her closet. Tina held them out and Leah dutifully stepped into them so her stepmother could pull them up and fasten the straps over her shoulders. Then she surprised Leah by grabbing her under the arms and lifting her easily off her feet. Leah had a moment of vertigo before she was sat on the edge of her bed and Tina began putting a pair of pink socks on her feet.
"There." Tina said, stepping back to admire her handiwork. "It isn't perfect but it will do for now. Those pullups aren't made for heavy wetting so be very careful when you have to go and ask me if you need to go #2 so I can help you with it. I'll get you something thicker but it might take a day or two."
Leah first looked down at herself, then over at the mirror in the corner. Tina noticed this, picked her up, and carried her over so she could admire herself. Leah had to admit that she didn't look that much different, just younger. Her outfit and hairstyle matched those of a 7 or 8 year old and you couldn't tell what she was wearing underneath it. To be honest Leah felt a little underwhelmed. Tina noted the slight look of disappointment on her stepdaughter's face.
"Like I said, it isn't perfect. We'll get you some better clothes over the next couple of days and you'll be looking your new age in no time."
"Where are we going to get clothes?" Leah asked nervously, "I don't know if I'm ready to go out like this, especially if it's so I can get clothes for... for a toddler."
"We don't have to go out right away." Tina said happily. She dug into a pocket and pulled out a credit card. "The internet is a wonderful place to find clothes and you don't even have to leave the comfort of your own home!"
Leah eyed the card suspiciously.
"Do you even have the money to afford this?" she asked cautiously, "I know new clothes are expensive-"
"Don't you worry about that." Tina interrupted. "Both your father and I are very well off. I myself have more than enough cover any expenses for this little experiment of ours. It will hardly even make a dent in my savings."
"Okay, if you're sure." Leah said, not quite believing her stepmother's last comment.
"I am sure. Now. Do you want to try the internet first, or can you muster up enough courage to go with me to some boutiques. There are plenty of local ones, but I do happen to know of a fantastic little shop a few towns over. I'm good friends with the owner and she would be more than happy to let us come in after hours for a special fitting session, discretely of course."
Leah wasn't sure, but she had to make a choice.
