"I don't think that we should tell anyone about this" Logan said, her normally confident, authoritative voice filled with fear. Even all of these years after the Great Change, Logan still unconsciously tried to use masculine inflections in her voice and her mannerisms, but she had never appeared closer to a scared little girl than now.
"We have to" Allison said, her lilting feminine voice also sounding frightened, but also resilient. "If the virus spreads, and more people become like us, something catastrophic could happen. Imagine if nobody could die anymore!"
"So what. As long as we're OK, that's all that matters."
"Logan, listen, we *have* to. This is a big deal. Too big to sweep underneath the rug."
"I just don't want you to get hurt!" Logan said, touching Allison's face.
"I couldn't live with you being, I don't know, experimented on, or something. Because that's what would happen. We'd be treated like freaks. Aliens! I can't believe this is happening!".
Logan suddenly laughed nervously, but caught herself and stopped.
Darkly, Allison was relieved at the thought that her dearest couldn't commit suicide anymore, like she had tried to do when the Great Change first started.
A part of Allison was now worried that maybe Logan would try more and more extreme methods to unalive herself if the pressure ever got too much.
Allison knew that self destructive impulse never *really* went away. She'd have to keep a closer eye on her wife from now on.

Barry was at home on her phone.
"Guess it's time to start looking for a job. Who will hire me?" she asked herself.
