"I still can't believe I'm humoring you, Sis," Will Weiss sighed as she parked her car in the grass in front of the gate that marked the entrance to Karnstein Manor's elegant grounds. "After all, they're fucking vampires, and the Weiss family..."
"...Are vampire hunters descended from the Harkers, yadda-yadda, ancient enemies, blah blah bah," Roxy finished, rolling her eyes. "I keep telling you, Will, there's no such thing as a vampire. Valeria von Karnstein's just a normal goth girl with a rich family that just happens to be a bit on the reclusive side."
"And on the creepy side," Will noted, staring at the looming Tudor-style manor house on the other side of the wrought iron gate.
"'Creepy' doesn't have to mean 'vampire'," said Roxy. "Besides, would it be so fucking terrible if Roxy were a vampire, Will? Vampires are pretty damn cool."
"Until they kill you," Will muttered darkly as she opened the gate and stepped into the manor's gardens, Roxy following close behind her.
As they drew nearer to the manor, the girls spotted a pale young woman with absurdly long platinum hair kneeling in a flower bed. Her fashion sense screamed 'hippie'. She looked up at Roxy and Will, smiling. "Hi, strangers!" the pale hippie said cheerfully. "I'm Liesel von Karnstein. What brings you here?"
"I'm a friend of Valeria's," said Roxy. "I'm here to pick her up for a date, and my sister's chaperoning."
"Far out!" Liesel grinned. "That must be why your aura's so bright. I hope you and Roxy have a groovy time."
"Thanks," Roxy said as she walked up to the front door and used the brass ring knocker. Moments later, an impossibly beautiful girl with pale skin, golden hair, smoky grey eyes, and ruby lips answered the knocking. She narrowed her eyes at the Weiss sisters suspiciously.
"Uhh, hi?" Roxy said, waving nervously to the blonde.
"Who are you?" The blonde asked sharply.
"I'm Wilhelmina Weiss," Will responded, her voice full of steel. "My friends call me Will, of course. And this is my sister Roxanne, or Roxy for short."
"Weiss..." the blonde muttered to herself. She glared at the two girls. "What do you two want?! We haven't been causing any trouble for anyone, you know! We just mind our own business."
"My, my, how polite," Will drawled, rolling her eyes.
"What's going on, Lenora?" asked a voice from inside the manor. Roxy instantly recognized it as belonging to Valeria.
"Just dealing with some nosy strangers, Val," Lenora responded with a flip of her golden hair.
"Is one of them named Roxy?" asked Valeria.
"Yes," Lenora said.
"Then let her in, for Mother Night's sake!" Valeria said. "That's my date!"
Lenora's cheeks blushed a strange blue color. "Oh shit! I forgot about that!" She turned to face Roxy and Will, an apologetic look on her face. "I'm terribly sorry. I didn't know. Go on in and have fun."
Roxy nodded and stepped into the manor, Will right behind her. Once inside, Roxy was pleased to be greeted by the familiar sight of Valeria von Karnstein's pale, slender body, her dark brown pixie cut gleaming in the manor's candlelight. Valeria ran over to Roxy and caught her in a passionate embrace. "Roxy, you came!"
"Of course I did," Roxy smiled. "Ooh, I forgot how chilly your hands are."
"Chilly skin, huh?" Will frowned. "Suspicious."
"Uh, who's this?" Valeria asked Roxy.
"Oh, that's just Wilhelmina, my big sister," said Roxy. "She wanted to chaperone, 'cause she's overprotective as fuck. She actually thinks you and your family are vampires! Can you believe that?"
"I suppose we do look the part," Valeria chuckled. "Pale skin, Victorian tastes, creepy loners, big-ass manor in the middle of the woods... there are times when I almost think we're a clan of vampires!"
"I get that," Roxy snickered. "So, what'll we be doing on our date?"
"I was thinking about taking you to Inferno," said Valeria. "It's the hottest dance club in Stokerville. It caters to the lesbian crowd, and it's got this really cool Hell theme."
"Knowing my luck, it'll probably be run by actual succubi," Will said dryly.
"Your sister's a bit obsessed with the supernatural," Valeria remarked.
"It's not really her fault," Roxy explained. "Our mom and our grandfather are both crackpot monster hunters. They've even convinced themselves they're descended from Jonathan and Mina Harker from the Dracula novel. Poor Will got brainwashed."
"Hey, magic might be real!" Valeria laughed, winking at Roxy. "You never know. So, do you like the sound of Inferno?"
"Sounds incredible!" Roxy said. "Hey, are you bringing those super-expensive drugs you gave me last time we met?"
"Uhhh, wha...?" Valeria asked before remembering that she had passed off the effects of her vampiric bite as a drug high. "Oh yeah, those drugs! Sure am."
"Alright!" Roxy crowed happily, pumping her fist. "Now let's hit the club!"
"Ooh, I see you've found yourself a tasty little morsel, Val," said a voice from the top of a flight of stairs. Roxy looked up and saw a shapely girl with grey-brown skin and cornrow braids draped seductively over a bannister. She was dressed in elegant gothic lolita fashion that was cut to show off as much leg and cleavage as possible.
Once she realized she was being looked at, the grey-brown girl slid down the bannister and landed on her feet in front of Roxy and Will, curtsying. "Dracona von Karnstein at your service. Your pleasure is my pleasure." She winked mischievously.
"Real cute, Dracona," sighed Valeria. "So, is there a reason you're bothering my date and her sister?"
"I was simply on my way to visit Beck," Dracona answered. "They're leaving for Japan tomorrow and I want to give them a special farewell."
"Knowing you, that'll probably involve a threesome with them and their girlfriend Brianna," Valeria snarked.
"I sure hope so!" Dracona grinned. "Those hyenas are scrumptious! Well, got to go now. I'll be back in an hour or two!" Dracona adjusted the amulet hanging around her neck and darted out the door.
"Hyenas?" Will repeated, confused.
"Dracona uses some pretty weird terms of endearment," Valeria responded.
"I'm sure Beck and Brianna aren't werehyenas, if that's what you're thinking," said Roxy. "Now let's go and party! Club Inferno, here we come!"
