Pam exited the bathroom, still in shock that the curse must be real - every lie she told suddenly became the truth!
On autopilot, she headed for the concession stand to grab some popcorn and soda. As she approached the counter, she noticed two teenaged girls snickering to each other by the candy display. They had a malicious, mean-girl look about them, something Pam recognized because she'd been one herself most of her life.
"First time out by yourself, shorty?" the blonde sneered. "Yeah, where's your mommy? Hope you don't get scared in the dark!" the brunette chimed in.
Pam huffed, flipping her hair over her shoulder before snipping back "NO, it's NOT my first time to the movies alone! My mom lets me do whatever I want, whenever I want. I'm VERY responsible, unlike YOU babies!"
The two girls seemed to freeze, mouths agape, and then right before Pam's eyes they rapidly shrunk to the size of infants, their clothing altering around them, puffing up as diapers replaced their underwear and onesies engulfed them. They seemed to bounce simultaneously as a double stroller appeared beneath them, straps holding them securely in their seats.
"Ohh what cuties!" an older lady was bending over the stroller, cooing to the baby girls who were looking around with wide eyes. "Are they your little sisters? Twins?"
Pam tried to think of an explanation for the presence of two unaccompanied babies at the theater. "Uh, no... No, I'm their babysitter."
The older lady straightened, looking over at the 11-year-old Pam. "Oh, well. I didn't realize you were old enough to babysit two infants on your own. Just how old are you, young lady?"
Pam was offended, and another lie slid easily off her tongue "I'm 15, ma'am, plenty old enough. And I get paid 30 dollars per hour, too!" Her body stretched with a sudden growth-spurt, and the lady blinked, reality adjusting to fit Pam's new truth.
