"Did you start it? Do you see anything different about me yet?!" Coral bounced in place, her usually excitement ramped up to level 10.
Adam tilted his head, trying to find evidence that the changes had begun. Was her nose looking a little darker? Or her teeth a little sharper? "Oh! Your ears! They're all fuzzy and poking out of your hair!" Coral quickly reached up to feel her furry ears as they slid upward, flopping over in an adorable fashion when they reached the top of her head. "It's like you're wearing a puppy-dog-ear headband, Cor!"
She clapped her hands and gave a little *yip* of excitement before describing "They feel all tingly, and everything seems louder! Is this what you hear, Charlie?" she went back to petting the pup, leaning forward slightly.
Something was pushing against the waistband of her pants, and Adam watched as a fluffy tail sprung free, wagging back an forth in a visible representation of Coral's happiness. "You've got a tail, sis! Look!"
"OH MY GrrOSH THIS IS AMAZING!" she yelped, twisting to take in her new appendage. "I have a TAIL! Adam! I'm really turning into a dog just like Charlie!" Crawling on her hands and knees, she spun in a few tight circles, trying to grasp her new tail. Becoming frustrated when it continued to elude her because of her awkward position, she began snapping at it with her mouth, and that's when Adam noticed that her nose and jaw had pushed out slightly - she now had a short muzzle, and he could see that her teeth had definitely sharpened! Her nose was turning a sooty shade as it broadened, and her elongated tongue lolled out to one side as she continued to chase her tail. She growled, letting out an actual *bark* of frustration as her vocal cords changed.
Charlie had rolled back over and was now watching Coral, tilting his head in fascination. As Adam glanced between the mutt and his sister, he jolted to realize she had begun to shrink as she was spinning in circles - she was now only slightly larger than the pup, and her clothes had taken on the shades of Collie-fur. They seemed to be disintegrating, breaking up into a furry fabric that melted into her skin, becoming her coat of fur!
Momentarily exhausted, Coral plopped down in a sphinx-like position, her arms stretched out in front of her and still ending in small, human hands, while her legs seemed to have shortened into a dog's hindquarters and easily tucked beneath her hips with her tail grazing the floor behind her. Charlie barked, very intrigued by the changed female before him, and Coral's ears perked up as she focused on her new playmate. Her hair was rapidly retracting, getting shorter and shorter before blending into a fluffy ruff of fur around her neck, which seemed to have elongated slightly to allow for her upright posture while technically lying down. Her hind legs quickly rose, and she play-bowed to the mutt, her tail wagging furiously once again.
Adam estimated that most of the 5 minutes had elapsed, since there were only a few more changed to go before Coral was completely a Collie puppy - he could see her fingers shortening as her hands stretched slightly, white fur covering her new paws and blending to brown around her elbows. Glancing back, he saw that her feet had followed the same course, and she now had four paws and looked like a ball of fluff with only her human eyes remaining. As he watched, her irises enlarged, crowding out the whites of her eyes as the final bit of fur covered her face.
Coral pounced, tackling Charlie and rolling around on the floor with him, overcome by her puppy instincts to PLAY PLAY PLAY!
