The four wielders of magic had a nice, hearty mean upon the main table. It was composed of buttered slices of bread, scrambled eggs, chicken breasts sand roasted mash potatoes with roasted carrots. Simple but with delicious smells steaming out of it. Yet James, for one, was not allowed to partake in it. He was offered a pet bowl, with ground beef in it and dog biscuits in a smaller one on the side. Magnus had wanted to force him to eat actual dry dog food but the witches said the dog treats were enough and that hamburger meat would suffice. Moreover, James was forced to eat on all fours, his butt sand privates high in the air and in full view! Talk about utterly humiliating! The beef was all right, but munching through dog treat was harder to swallow, in more ways than one. It wasn't as foul as he feared but the meaty flavor was dubious in nature and the fact that he was made to eat dog food was just revolting.
And just as he finished the last treat, there was a cartoonish popping sound issuing from his behind. He then felt the breeze and movement of something waving behind his butt. Everyone at the table roared in laughter and James turned around. Another tail! He had a tail of a sandy color and with longish hair coming out of his butt! And it was wagging! Wagging uncontrollably!
"Make it stop!" he screamed, but it only came out as barks.
"Looks like the doggy loved his treats!" chortled Hilda.
With another pop, the first tail vanished, only to leave the one belonging to a golden retriever. Another pop happened and James felt his ears change once again. They were bigger, floppier and softer. No doubt the same a golden retriever would sport. Four pops later, he saw he had paws with silky long sand[-colored hair instead of hands and feet. And that stupid tail was still wagging! The four practicers of magic were howling with laughter. James started to howl himself, but in desperation. He then growled and bark and snapped his jaws, baring his teeth, even.
"Looks like the spell went deeper than I expected," laughed Magnus.
He was not in the least bit frightened by James and he pointed his staff at him.
"So let's complete it fully, shall we?"
