The music was rocking and the drinks were flowing as a massive party was happening in the backyard of the frat house Terry called home while he was at school.
The party wasn’t just limited to the large back yard which was dominated by in the ground pool but thanks to the designs of nearby houses all whom where frats and sororities themselves the fences all had gates in them.
This allowed them fraternities and sororities who lived in the houses to open the gates and turn the individual back yards into one massive back yard. And six of them were doing this now with Terry’s house being the center of the action since they had the pool. There had to be at least 70 people at this party and possible even a 100. Multiple kegs where open and people were having a good time.
And Terry was always near the center of the action when it came to the party. He was always a people person and was considered the life of the party.
He was talking with people, getting people drinks, living it up on the dance floor that a nearby sorority had instead of a pool or jumping in and out of that pool.
He was everywhere.
And so was the mermaid virus he carried.
A single exposure to the mermaid virus wasn’t a full sign that you would get infected but with Terry being around so many people. Touching so many people, giving people drinks and food and worse of all jumping in and out of the pool.
In the water, the mermaid virus was at it’s most infectious and by the end of the night the pool and nearby hot tub because he went there a few times would be considered biohazard waste by the CDC by how infected it was with the virus. Others where slipping away to hook up with either their partners or random people they met at the party, this however spread the virus as well and actually speed up the change.
None of the people there knew what danger they where in.
They where just having a good time, drinking, relaxing and hooking up with each other as the night went on. None knew the danger they were in.
Soon that would change.
