Your little sister was all smiles from where she sat in the back of the car. With reason, too. No late homework and Alicia had followed with her on the way to school.
Unlike her, you hadn’t written anything or could be wholly certain anything needed to be turned in despite doing your best to scour your social media and computer files for information about your current life. As you exited out of the passenger seat you waved to your mother and Thea. Nothing to worry about with the App and reasoning you weren’t far into the semester. After effortlessly hefting your dufflebag on Mizuki’s urging you let them go.
This early in the morning every student who could avoid coming in did – other than yourself. You didn’t recognize anyone, even vaguely, and nobody came forward to greet you either. So picking a person at random you were eager to see the sentence the App generated. ‘The lonely freshman Mathis Tyler is walking over to the college library to study ancient Greek history.’ He’d be a far better Meagan.
Meagan Tyler didn’t lose a step as her existence altered. Not that much had, superficially. Still mousy and a short-haired brunette with nothing remarkable standing out in their appearance or clothing.
She suddenly became much less boring when she stood waiting for you behind a bookshelf in the library. But Meagan hadn’t considered the consequences of a taller and disoriented female bodybuilder walking straight into her. She still did not make much of an impression.
Sitting on your haunches you waited for her to take the offered hand before you rose with the collapsed Meagan in tow. “Still learning my way around campus. You looked like you knew where you were going.” You apologized as she sat down at a nearby table to massage an aching limb. “Fine if I sit with you? Thought it get some studying done before my classes start. You aren’t waiting for any friends are you?”
“No, only one from my High School class that applied for classes here.” There was an accent, but you weren’t versed enough to place which state. “Hardly know anyone. Meagan Tyler.”
“Alicia.” You retrieved one of the coursebooks without paying any attention to the title and subject and sat down opposite your newest friend. “Is history one of your subjects?” Resting an arm on the unopened book, you found the App and half-listened to Meagan say something about an Hellenistic period. “Uh-uh, really?” Whatever she said had to be interesting to someone. ‘Meagan is explaining about how she thinks certain legends about Alexander are real.’ The Great? It didn’t matter when ‘Alexander’ became ‘Amazons’ as the first Greek related thing that came into your mind.
“... they lived on Atlantis.” Sounded wrong. Listening to Meagan’s conspiracy theories about the legends of the warrior women would be a fun way to pass the time away from your family.
When you placed your phone down, you noticed Meagan was paying more attention to your physique than she had earlier.
