Mike spoke first. "You evil bastard! Well, you can take your adventure and shove it up your ass! I'm going to fuck myself into the life of a stud stallion and spend my life pampered and valued. Not eaten by Orcs."
Tye scowled. "OK. Be that way. Be a dumb animal! Not much change from your human self anyway. What about you, Brian? You want to throw away hundreds of years exploring as an elf? Maybe learn magic, find treasure?"
Brian pressed against Dar, finding the contact comforting. "I trust Dar way more than I trust you. Sending Mike off to his fate like that, and laughing about it? No way I want you watching my back."
Narrowing his eyes, Tye gritted his teeth and balled up his fists. "Fine! You want to stay with him? This is your world now." Both Mike and Brian felt a strange pressure that vanished just as suddenly. "Best be careful - neither of you will ever leave this world again." Then the evil, angry Tye stomped back down the road to see what 'fun' he could have with just the remaining two party members.
Dar pulled Brian against his chest, shaking his head. "Well, looks like you two have to make your way in my world, now. You?" He looked at Mike. "Sorry, but the best I can offer is life as a smart horse. You've already set the magic in motion. I could let you leave, but some other magic user would finish you off." He dropped his chin to rest on the top of Brian's head. "As for you, there are a lot more choices. You can try adventuring as an elf, but without skills and weapons, I doubt you would last more than a day or two. If you go into town, there's a mud puddle with lots of little kids playing in it. You can join them and end up looking and thinking like a 4 year old. You'd eventually grow up again into a peasant worker. Or you can join me. Landros would be willing to give me a helper. A little bigger than you are now, and maybe some magic."
