Veronica quickly slipped on a skirt and t-shirt. She was still very down-to-earth when not modelling, and tended to dislike many of the very clothing lines she shilled for. It was a simple ensemble; a Marilyn Manson concert shirt, and a short (but not indecent) denim skirt. She'd just finished combing her hair when there was a knock on her trailer.
She sighed again, thoroughly tired of the attention for the day, but bravely put on her "model face", answering the door with a charming smile.
"Miss Hinton?" asked a young, professionally dressed woman at the door, "I'm Julie Sands, from Vogue. You ready to do your interview?"
"Sure, come on in," Veronica replied, taking in appraising glances at both Julie and her unintroduced photographer. Julie was young, probably even younger than Veronica herself, she guessed. She had fairly short bleached blonde hair, and sparkling blue eyes. She wore a business skirt and jacket combo, maroon in color. Unlike Veronica, she had an ample busom, but only stood about 5'4".
Her photographer tagalong was another story entirely. He wore a wrinkled tshirt and torn jeans, and had a three day old growth of hair on his face. He had mousy brown hair, which appeared not to have been combed in some time, as well.
"This is Zack; he's gonna take a few casual shots of you for some filler with the interview...that's okay, right?" Julie asked, gesturing to the photographer.
"Yeah, that's fine," Veronica replied. "You guys want a beer, or rum and coke or something?" Veronica headed to the mini-fridge in her pseudo-kitchen, grabbing an Amber Bock for herself.
"I'll take a beer," Zack quipped.
"You have any Coca-cola?" asked Julie. Veronica grabbed each of them what they asked for, then flopped down on the couch. Veronica was slightly amused by the way that Julie's fingertips lingered against hers for a moment as she took the soda from Veronica. She couldn't be sure, but she thought that Julie might be a little gay.
The interview was a rather standard one, as far as Veronica was concerned. There were the usual questions: How did you get into modelling, are you dating anyone famous, would you LIKE to date anyone famous, etc. etc. As the interview wore on, Veronica found herself becoming more and more sure that Julie was gay, and that she was quite attracted to Veronica. She couldn't lay her finger on it, but it was almost like she could SMELL Julie's attraction.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Julie herself wasn't actually gay. Bi-curious, yes. But actually a full on lesbian, no. She found it quite difficult to pay attention to Veronica's answers to her questions today, however. It seemed that since she'd walked into the trailer, Veronica had an overwhelming sexual presence to Julie. Julie had often wondered what it would be like to be with another woman, though she'd never gotten up the courage to ask for the experience, despite the fact she had several female friends who were overtly bisexual, and rather free with their loving. Yet here she was, quietly fantisizing about this beautiful woman in front of her, despite the fact she'd never met her before today.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Zack, however, was gay. Quite gay. So gay he'd actually never been with a woman for the purposes of sex. He wasn't a fool; he could see that Julie had a bit of a crush, but more to his surprise, Veronica wasn't doing anything to stop the crush. If anything, she almost seemed to be encouraging it, no matter how subtly. The two females were on a small couch, only slightly bigger than a loveseat. They'd started out on opposite ends, yet both of them were inching towards the other every few seconds or so. There was pointed and prolonged eye contact, of the semi-meaningful kind. Yeah, Zack could see the writing on the wall.
Being 26, he'd been put in charge of the young reporter, who was the neice of one of the editors. It was his job to shepherd her around, help her make the important contacts in the industry. He knew Veronica's type, she'd simply tease Julie to get a better story; at best she'd just use her for a one-night stand. But he knew Julie would never forgive him for telling her this. She had to find out on her own. "I'm uhh...not feeling so hot;" Zack lied, "I'm gonna lay down in the car." He handed Julie his camera. "Take a picture of something interesting for me, would ya?" Saying a quick goodbye, he left the two women alone. (In reality, he wasn't going to the car; he was looking to find a stylist to make out with, or perhaps a designer. Sometimes stereotypes are true, and the fashion industry is one of them.)
"Well then," Julie said, secretly happy to be alone with Veronica, "Let's get a couple pictures."
