(In this chapter and on, I choose to change Adam's horse breed from Clydesdale to a yellowy-brown Thoroughbred, for reasons you'll find in this chapter)
"So, girl," said Clay. Adam nickered, still a little mad about that part. "You need to learn how to walk right as a horse. But first, I want to check something..."
Clay walked out of the stable, than returned. He smiled at Adam, who neighed in question. "You see, as a mare, you can't be called 'Adam' anymore, right? So I checked up on the farm's list, and it seems like you're listed as 'Horse #8', and that's it. I guess I have to give you a new name, and the Chronivac will take care of the rest."
Adam snorted. Sure, he knew 'Adam' wasn't a good name for a mare, but he hoped he could keep his own name... but again, it was only for a short time, and if Clay really wants it, he can adjust.
"What do you say about 'Sahara'? your fur's color reminds me of a desert."
Adam nodded his head. 'Sahara' is a really cool name, he thought.
"Yeah!" said Clay happily. "I knew you'd like it."
He went out of the stable again. When he returned, he had a saddle, bridle and reins. "As i expected, now in all of your papers, on the farm's list, and everything else, you registered as my Thoroughbred mare 'Sahara'. Isn't it just awesome? Oh. I geuss before we start, I need to tell you something. I know you have no idea what 'Thoroughtbred' means. It's the best horse breed for horse races. You see, in two weeks from now, there's a HUGE horse race in the country, and sadly, our champion racer had gone missing last winter. I want you train really well, so we can compete in the race? What are you saying?"
Adam wasn't sure. Does he even stand a chance? He'll be new to everything, and his competitors, well, will be the best.
"I see you're struggling. Oh, did I mentioned that the winner gets a 250,000$ cash prize?"
Adam's ears perked up. 250,000$?! That's quite the prize. If they win, they can finally rent an apartment together... Adam neighed, stomping the ground with determination. He nodded again. Clay's smile got even bigger. "Thank you so much, Adam... I mean, Sahara. Trust me, you can do it. I'll train you well, and with your human intellegence, we'll be unstoppble. But for that, we need to start. So, Sahara," He said, raising up the saddle. "Lets start your first lesson: walking!"
