With one week down in January, everyone in Animalia and its colonies began preparing for some new things.
What was probably gaining the most attention was Lunar New Year 2023, or as some others would call it, the Year of the Rabbit. Because it was taking place on January 22nd, all the rabbits, except the ones who had converted recently, began doubling down on their training, partly because it wouldn't be just beauty or martial arts that would be tested during the festivities.
Of course, some were focusing more on their training than others. Morgan was focusing extra hard on her training, mainly to counteract the reputation she garnered as a "toxic ex" on the Animalia Website. True, she hadn't planned to be a rabbit Animalian, but her punishments did help her learn what faults and flaws needed fixing. Right now, however, the new upswing in bimbos was a larger part of the reason why she was training, since several new bimbos had followed in Trixie's footsteps and became rabbit Animalians. Because of this, she had to prove that she was better than those, especially since some "trolls" had begun lumping her into the same group as them.

Of course, there are some things that pop up unexpectedly due to forces people can't control.
"So, Bennie," said Sarah, as she and Malice did a brief interview that would be part of Animalia Ambassadoria, "What brought you and Marina back to Animalia?"
"Because of the bomb cyclone that struck southern California," answered Bennie, "A few people got hurt really bad, whether from the record-smashing rain levels, the flooding, or the debris flows.
"We've actually got a glancing blow from that." said Malice, since it had been raining on and off for a while now, "Any news you can share on the Animalian-friendly condominiums that were under development in San Francisco?"
"Yes, actually." answered Bennie, "First, I can confirm that part of the reason why those buildings needed to be torn down was because, during the initial survey of those buildings, deadly asbestos was discovered."
"So how has the rain impacted the construction sites?" asked Malice, planning to look up the dangers of asbestos later.
"We've actually gotten all of the tearing down done," Answered Marina, "so while the construction sites may need to be drained, there hasn't been any damage to the sites."
"If money is needed to help, Animalia will gladly hold another Bachelor/Bachelorette auction." promised Sarah.
"That's all right." said Marina, "If more money is needed to help, we'll contact you."

Of course, other colonies were dealing with their own problems. Most notably, Dino city was dealing with the influx of "bimbos" that had first hit Lyre/Animalia and Mieni Atoll. While most of them were nice enough, the thing that made Dinotopians seething mad about things was that they seemed to believe that the "Dinosaur" and "Cavemen" eras occurred at the same time. Fortunately, Ursula had opened up part of her new manor as a rooming house for said bimbos, mainly to protect them from the conservative Texans who were "attacking" them, metaphorically.
