The sponsors of TF Park USA, TF Park North America, TF Park America, Transformation Park America, or any combination there of, weren't just testing the safety of their technology among normal people, and the viability of their real goal. They were also laying the ground work for the park being accepted by the general public, and getting the people to embrace this technology as a blessing.
The course of action had been... HOTLY debated about the sponsors. Some calling it political suicide, while others insisting it was the only way to have society swerve enough in their favor in their natural life time.
In the end one of the sponsors said, "It's the only way to establish the process as wholesome, and to distract people from the other side if things go south for park behavior."
They had to show the park could be encouraging and positive to families. And this technology could be healing, and the best way to pluck people's heartstrings was to invite nuclear families.
The first was a boy in a wheelchair who had broken his back at a skateboarding contest.
The second was a little girl from the 'make a wish' foundation, whose wish had been to be a kitty.
And the final one was a 'control group' girl whose both sets of grandparents had been hippies.
While the transformation were nominally random for the 200 volunteers, many of them had in fact been carefully chosen based on their psychological profiles. And to make sure there was no message that they were 'breaking up families' they made doubly sure that each family would become the same species as their child.
It had also been arranged so the waiting numbers and the booths assigned to the families would be relatively close to each other, but not so close that it was obvious.
The boy's name was, believe it or not, Bucky. His favorite book was "Bambi, a Life in the Woods" (copyright expired 2022 folks! Book free to use!). And he had leapt and jumped wildly about on his new functional legs. His mother following close behind while the boy's father was getting used to his new antlers.
The bobcat girl had likely run around wild in joy at a body that wasn't in constant pain. Her parents were split between tears of joy, and getting used to be naked in front of strangers (even though it was impossible to recognize anyone in their new forms).
And that left the fox girl... who delighted at her new tail and fur for about five minutes before deciding she wanted to see if she could find a fairy ring and maybe make a contract with Oberon and Titania for kitsune powers, or maybe draw circles in the ground to attract aliens, or find some dryads born of tree planted on top of skeletons. But she did think the fawn and kitten looked like good quest companions.
The ultimate throw of the dice, for the ultimate prize. If things worked out for the three children, the park's wholesome image was secure, or at least starve off demonization.
Meanwhile, the park had also hired a man descendant from a family of ninjas who had been determined to keep their style of stealth alive. He'd boasted he could teach the security team to hide so perfectly in plain sight that guests would swear they hadn't been there a moment before. As a test to see if he was all he boasted (as later husky security teams would insist he very much was), he was assigned to make sure NOTHING unpleasant happened to the three young guests while remaining out of sight (while introducing himself to the three parents to avoid any misunderstandings).
