Mary ran out into the cool night air, stripping her nightgown off along with her underwear. The grass tickled her bare feet as she stood naked on the lawn between the house and the barn, wondering what the random change would transform her into? Her breasts heaved with her excited breaths while her rounded stomach gleamed in the moon's light. She caressed her pregnant human belly for hopefully the last time, knowing that she was giving her baby a better, more carefree life away from that cheating bastard.
As she calmed, opening herself up to the change, Mary stretched her arms out wide, bathing in the light of the nearly-full moon. A breeze stirred, tickling the hairs on her arms and raising goosebumps in its wake. The tickling sensation increased to a tingling, and pushing her arms out in front of her, Mary gazed down to find that her body hair seemed strangely thick, each hair follicle hardening into a sort of sheath from which a tuft of... no, a feather sprouted! Her arms were covered in rapidly growing golden feathers! She had a glimpse of her hands, fingers looking strangely distorted before more long, buttery-yellow feathers pushed out there as well, covering her upper extremities and leaving her with enormous WINGS for arms!
Suddenly, she felt an overwhelming instinct to squat, pressure building in her stomach and forcing her to crouch on the grass, arms tucked against her sides as something settled lower in her abdomen... her stomach was roiling, insides shifting and gurgling, and for a second Mary worried that the change was harming her baby in some way, but then an overpowering contraction gripped her, wiping her mind as she was consumed with the inescapable desire to *PUSH!* Seconds later, she felt something small and smooth slide from her body and fall the short distance to the ground without a sound.
"Oh god, my baby! What have I done, oh god..." Mary frantically waddled forwards on cramping feet, not noticing how her heels had stretched backward, leaving her to walk on the balls of her feet. Turning around, she was astounded to find a small, brown egg nestled in the grass. Mary was shocked speechless, and in that moment her mouth hardened into a sharp line, her nose melting and pushing outwards as a beak formed in their place. Alarmed, she flapped her wings, stretching upward even as her feet reshaped, the skin hardening and becoming almost scaley as her big toes turned and her pinky toe melted away. Long toenails pushed out, sinking into the soft earth as she fluttered back down, regaining her balance on her reformed feet.
Gooseflesh rippled over her exposed skin, and her stomach hanging below her due to her new stance was quickly covered in more butternut-colored feathers. A pressure at the base of her spine heralded the sprouting of a tiny tail, longer feathers immediately pushing out in a V-formation above fine, downy feathers that she felt sprouting around her newly combined opening and wrapping between her legs.
Mary let out an affronted "SQUAUK!" of surprise as her neck suddenly stretched up and away, golden feathers racing to cover her exposed throat even as she felt something weighty form beneath her chin. Shaking her head, the new growth flopped oddly, echoed by a heavy mass on top of her head. Shaking her head again, she opened her eyes to a new reality, split vision showing her either side of her body at the same time.
A brown egg shone in the moonlight, catching her eye, and Mary clucked, stretching out her neck and rolling the egg into her downy feathers, shifting and settling to keep her precious baby warm and safe beneath her for the night.
