“May I have this dance?”
The question jolted Kevin out of his thoughts and he stared up at the boy who’d asked him like a deer in the headlights . The guy was dressed in what looked like a specially tailored suit, smiling down as he offered Kevin his hand. His slicked back dark hair glistened under the lights of the school’s dance hall. The room was filled with boys in suits and girls in elaborate evening gowns slowly circling through the room. Of course, appearances could be deceiving.
For example, nobody looking at him would have thought he was a boy. He had long blonde which flowed down to his shoulders, expertly done makeup covering his face. He was wearing a long, tight fitting dark blue evening gown, which he filled out quite well thanks to the large breast forms they’d attached to his chest with some sort of adhesive—whatever it was, it practically seemed molded to his chest at this point—the attempt to get them off during his escape attempt had been an almost comical failure. There was a decidedly feminine sway to his movement as he’d headed over to the refreshment stand to get a drink earlier—walking in heels had become almost natural. The school admins had drilled them all so many times that Kevin was sure he could do it in his sleep.
As far as anyone outside of the other students and instructors knew, he was “Katherine”, just another pretty debutante sent to this finishing school to learn how to be a proper trophy wife in a few years. Of course, that was the secret the school held—all of the elegant, demure young ladies who wouldn’t be caught dead in anything other than a skirt or dress were actually boys.
Kevin would be the first to admit he’d been a bit of a punk. Vandalism, breaking and entering……he and his friends had been running wild for a while, and he’d ignored every warning his parents had given him. Finally, they’d laid down the law—they were sending him to a special school which helped put boys like him back on the right track and make them people their wealthy families could be proud of.
As Kevin took the boy’s hand, he thought back to when it had all begun….
