A tail. What looked to be a lion's tail no less.
Ruut paused, he expected many things, but a tail wasn't one of them.
"Master..." he said, voice tinged with uncertainty.
"Worry not my boy" he replied, "It appears the goddess has chosen a new path for our Maa'ti. Note my child, new does not mean bad.."
Ruut looked with amazement at the tail, its tip lashing ever so slightly in her sleep. Much like a house cat's, its movement seemed to never fully cease.
"What is she becoming?" He asked, unsure how to proceed with his care.
"I'm not sure, child. That is for the goddess to know and for us to experience. Whatever form she is taking on, it must be in service of some grander plan."
Ruut listened intently, but the man's words failed to calm him. No matter what was said, this change went well beyond gender, age or race. He was still deeply concerned about Maa'ti. Looking up to her face , he noticed that her ears had taken on slight points. The change, it seemed, would go beyond just the tail.
Unsure, he looked up to his master and noticed a similar change overtaking his ears. Both had begun to rise to leonine points above his head. Hand trembling, Ruut reached up and felt his own ears shifting beneath his hands.
"Fuck me" Ruut said, the effects of the blue powder still coursing through his veins, Rob's personality was still able to emerge. And for this moment, emerge it did. While Rob had largely accepted his new life, and was even excited to become Ruut; changing age, race and species seemed too much for his mind to handle. "I gotta get the fuck out of here!"
Standing, the jungle boy turned and bolted out of the tent.
"Ruut Calm down!" The medicine man shouted after the boy.
