Standing before the two rebels was a majestic black Arabian horse. The rebels stared at the horse in silent shock. Seizing the opportunity, Jasper, who was the horse, rushed past them. The rebels quickly moved aside to not be bowled over.
Jasper blindly ran through the palace, then down the streets of the city. In the chaos of the coup, no one seemed too surprised by a riderless horse running around. Finally, Jasper crossed the city gates to freedom.
Judging by the golden horseshoes he wore, that was what the amulet had been transformed to when Jasper became a horse. Jasper wasn't pleased to be a horse, but he figured there would be worse options. He was very fast, at least.
Eventually, Jasper came to a horse farm. He recognized it as the one the palace got their horses from. Luckily, the gate to the pasture had been left open, so he was able to get inside easily. He would leave in the morning; right now, he needed to sleep.
However, just as he joined the other horses, Jasper suddenly remembered that the farm specialized in breeding. Every horse there was in heat or otherwise very virile.
