“Finally,” Mark sighed as his computer returned to his home screen. Mark was a 19 year old high school senior just about to finish the first six weeks of school. “A benchmark exam tomorrow and my computer decides to eat into my studying time for a stupid update.” Before he could click on anything a program opened itself and began loading.
*Chronivac V4.0*
“What kinda stupid game did Eve download on my laptop this time?” Mark groaned as he waited for it to finish so he could close it.
*Scanning for Subjects… Subjects found. 3 new profiles added*
Mark’s concern flared as he saw his sister Evelyn, his mother Beth, and his names on the margin. “I swear if this is spy wear for ID theft,” he hissed as he clicked on his name. His eyes scanned over the information listed, looking for vital security data. A relieved sigh escaped his lips as he saw nothing concerning listed. “I need to have a serious talk with Eve about cyber security,” he said to himself for the 100th time.
Clicking on Eve’s profile, Mark once again scanned it before clicking on some of the values. “What is this, some kind of simulator?” He questioned as he scrolled through a variety of sliders. Clicking on one labeled Respect, a second tab opened bearing all three of their names. He clicked on his name and a value displayed 43%. “The heck does that mean? Does Eve really not respect me?” Thinking back to how Eve tended to use his stuff without asking and push her wants over his, Mark concluded the facts checked out. “That’s actually kind of upsetting. Nothing I can do about it. Well, not in real life,” he said and slide the bar to full. “Simulation Eve will respect simulation Mark,” he decreed in a comically deep, commanding voice.
“Fuck it, if she’s gonna use my stuff, I’m gonna mess with her’s. She can fix her character later,” Mark concluded.
