As they continue to walk down the street, James feels a tugging sensation on his tail bone, feeling it push against his skin. The 10-year-old lets out a groan, which also catches Benji's attention, “what is it, Milo,” he asks. James ignores his friend and turns his head to look back at what is happening. Benji also looks and he starts to smile, which soon turns into a grin, “looks like your tail is growing.”
James whimpers, he reaches a hand back and grabs the strange thing, he feels it continue to grow in his hand. It feels so alien and unnatural to him, “I don't want a tail,” he says, but he knows there is nothing he can do to stop his body from changing.
Benji grins, “I think it looks cute,” he says, “it suits you.”
James scowls at his friend, “why are you being like this,” he asks, “I don't recognize you!”
Benji just grins, “I noticed the change in my personality,” he says, “I assume, what ever is causing you to change, is also affecting me, and I am ENJOYING it. I like... no... I LOVE the new me!”
James is at loss for words, he can't believe what he is hearing coming from his friend's mouth. The boy's new tail moves between his legs, showing how unhappy he feels.
Benji sighs, “look,” he says, “neither one of us can change what is happening. You should just accept your fate! You are becoming MY dog and I am now your owner! You may think of me as evil, but I promise that I will be a good owner and take good care of you. I still remember us being friends, now our relationship has just simply become closer! Now, stop whining, Milo, and start accepting and enjoying it. Think about it: no more boring school! The only things you get to do is lie around all day, eat, play and go to obedience school. You should be happy!”
“Well, I am NOT,” James says.
Benji sigh and shakes his head, “you will, sooner or later, if not, then that is your problem,” he tugs on the “leash”, “now, get moving, Milo! We are going to be late for your appointment with the vet!”
