Jeff awoke after 10 am confused why he was wearing socks and not underwear. He showered feeling particularly grungy, got dressed, and went down for some food surprised his mom didn't wake him by 9 which is common, even for weekends. He greeted his parents who exchanged a glance at his entry. "So Jeff, what happened last night?" his father started.
"Oh, Erik and I had a ton of fun with his new game. It's really intense and I don't know, you guys might even like it. That reminds me, I need to call him and see how much farther he got." Jeff had dove into the lunchmeat and cheese shoving it into his mouth while trying to decide what to actually have for breakfast.
After it became clear Jeff could recall nothing after leaving Erik's house, his parents told him about coming home exhausted, feverish, and covered in blood. Despite knowing nothing of the injury he had claimed to have received last night, Jeff's hand slipped up to cover his shoulder, the same way was protecting himself when he entered the house last night... the action wasn't lost on his mother.
Jeff's parents left Jeff to eat, retreating to their room to discuss what if any steps should be taken. If Jeff was attacked, the police should know, but there was so much blood and Jeff was uninjured, so was Jeff actually the attacker? Did Jeff hurt someone in self defense? Was someone injured, bleeding out, and disoriented so they lashed out at Jeff? What made Jeff so sick so fast, and why was he so certain his shoulder was injured last night if there wasn't a scratch? Was his memory loss from delirium or a trauma response?
Jeff's parents went in circles with the discussion ultimately deciding to visit Erik's house and talk with his parents if they were willing. Jeff's mom insisted on bringing the shirt, knowing Erik's mother at the very least would empathize with their concern seeing their son stumble in, disoriented covered in this much blood.
In that time, Jeff emptied the fridge and pantry of anything remotely edible that didn't need cooking, finishing and going to his room minutes before his parents called Erik's parents and set up a meeting. They all piled into the car and headed over. Jeff went to Erik's room and talked more about the game, the discussion was ultimately fruitless but Erik's parents showed concern to a degree that satisfied Jeff's mother.
Jeff's mom went upstairs to "get Jeff" but ultimately wanted to interrogate Erik. A light barrage of questions later and Jeff was being dragged away. Jeff asked for lunch after returning home and his mom realized pasta was the only thing she could make quickly as one of the few things that survived. Jeff had eaten all the fresh vegetables in his morning raid and she was left confused, given her newly acquired tendencies to add diced fresh vegetables to everything.
After lunch, Jeff found a way to log in on his computer and watch Erik play the game, the pair spent all afternoon into the early evening playing before Erik's parents called him to dinner... Jeff got a text shortly after that, Erik's parents demanded he do something else so gaming is canceled.
Jeff's mom took inventory and went shopping in the afternoon, she began meal preparation for the week (another tweak from the Chronivac) since 'somebody' devoured everything... As evening fell and the moon began to rise, Jeff again began burning up.
Jeff's body wasn't fighting the lycanthropy, the lycanthropy was preparing Jeff's body to survive it... In a mad dash as the moon began to rise, Jeff's infected cells were releasing machinery to modify his cell structures. Humans are 96 - 99 degrees when healthy, wolves are 104-106 degrees... Jeff ran on the lower end of the human spectrum but now operates at 99 degrees.
Even still, if he 'wolfs out', exerts himself, and gets too hot, his body's human proteins would melt and he would die... Which is why his body is now in the process of converting over to wolf proteins which unfortunately alerts his immune system of very strange things going on, hence the fever he is about to experience, which actually helps the process along.
Jeff became lethargic mid dinner and despite eating like a garbage truck all day, could only finish one plate of food before going to bed at 7.
