She wandered trough the streets of the city, thinking about how to use her power. The possibilities seemed endless.
As she strolled along an alleyway, she heard footsteps behind her. Turning around, she found two men approaching her. One held a knife, pointing it straight at her belly button. The other man pointed his gun towards her chest. Those fucks were robbing her!
"Hey weird looking kid, I'm gonna need your wallet." he ordered.
Without hesitation, she crossed her arms and replied "What?"
The guy with the gun chuckled and replied "Yeah, you heard me. You're gonna give us your money or we'll hurt you."
"Alright then, go ahead and shoot me then." she responded, then she crossed her fingers and continued "You cannot hurt me, ever."
Both thugs stared at her dumbfounded, but recovered.
"Are you serious? Are you fucking insane?!" one asked as he brandished his weapon again.
Selene gave him an icy stare and replied "I assure you, there will not be any harm done to me. If you are so sure, why don't you try it yourself?"
He didn't waste another second, hitting her with his knife. The blade bounced off her skin at contact, even letting off a spark. "What the hell?"
His friend meanwhile took aim and pulled the trigger. She felt the bullet hit, but it felt as if a small cotton had been thrown at her. A small pang sounded and she saw small, flat clump of metal falling towards the ground.
"Are you fucking Kryptonian?" asked the amateur marksman, his gun smoking.
"Now do you see my point?" Selene said coldly.
The failed robbers looked at each other.
"Ok, ok, let's just get outta here. Don’t want Ka-El's little manga sister on our ass." the knife-man said and turned tail, leaving his friend behind.
"Wait for me!" the gunman yelled as he ran after his partner.
Selene watched as they fled, until finally both men disappeared into the distance. Their weapons in hand.
"The police are going to see them and their weapons." she simply said with a smirk and walked that way, too.
Soon enough she saw the police apprehend the two men. As soon as the criminals looked at her, they began to yell. All heads turned towards her.
"It's her, it's fucking her!" the arrested thugs shouted, "she can't be human."
"That bitch is crazy!" added the other.
The two cops laughed out loud. "Yes, and I'm the US president. Get in the car. A nice ride to our station, for free," said the elder officer.
The younger one walked towards her. "Hello, lil’ miss, I'm Officer Kleinberg. Can I have your name?"
"Selene Turner,” she said, “am I in trouble?"
"No, probably." answered the cop after he returned it, "however these two ran from your direction with illegal weapons. Now they are claiming that they tried to rob you."
"Well no. Never seen them." lied Selene.
Officer Kleinberg smiled. "Don't worry, I believe you. Now, I cannot believe I'm asking this, but are you bulletproof?"
"What?" asked Selene, trying to sound puzzled.
The young cup sighed "They were claiming that they were running away from, from I quote, 'some weird looking bullet proof kid'. Their description, well, not many purple haired girls around here."
"Nope, I got even a paper cut last week. Bullets would go straight trough me, like anyone." Selene explained.
"Anyways, normally I would call in your parents for this, but the claim is so stupid, nobody is going to investigate it." clarified Kleinberg, “but we needed it for the record.”
"Oh yeah, right. No problem." said Selene.
"Good day to you, Selene." said Kleinberg.
"Same to you, Mr. Kleinberg."
Kleinberg left her alone, heading back to the car They were still yelling inside.
"So what now?" she wondered aloud as the car drove away.
