By the time they got home, Leah had wet herself yet again. Tina sighed, but brought her teenage stepdaughter in for another diaper change. During the change, Leah continued to suckle on her pacifier, seemingly unbothered by wetting herself, wearing a diaper, and being changed. Tina wondered if maybe Leah was already getting used to this.
After the change, Tina put Leah in front of the TV. She felt bad for her stepdaughter and decided to put away everything she’d purchased on her own. When she checked in on Leah, she was laying on the floor, still sucking her pacifier, thoroughly engrossed in some cartoon for babies. Tina frowned. This was getting weird.
“Leah, do you want lunch?” Tina called. Leah looked over. She nodded. “What do you want?”
“Uh…chicken nuggets,” Leah said.
“All right,” Tina mumbled. Leah normally hated that sort of food. She considered herself a “foodie” of sorts. Tina microwaved some frozen chicken nuggets and brought the plate out to Leah. “You’re going to have to stop sucking on that paci if you want to eat your lunch.”
“Fine,” Leah muttered. She removed her pacifier. She blinked. “Wait. Why are you giving me chicken nuggets for lunch? Why am I wearing a diaper?” Leah gasped. “And why is it wet?!” Tina set down the plate and stuck a finger down the back of Leah’s diaper.
“Yep, you need another change.”
“Another?!” Leah squeaked. Tina sighed.
“I don’t know what’s suddenly gotten into you, but you need to calm down so I can put you in a fresh diaper.” Tina stuffed Leah’s pacifier back into her mouth. After a few seconds of sucking on it, Leah smiled at Tina.
“I get diapy change?” Leah asked.
“…Yes,” Tina said, confused. She went to get the diaper changing supplies. As she did, she noticed the package the pacifier had come in. She picked it up. Her eyes widened.
“This pacifier has a unique hypnotic ability,” the package read. “Your child will behave like a perfect baby while sucking on it. Once removed, however, the tantrums and fussing will return.” Tina looked over at Leah, who was now laying on her back, playing with her toes. The pacifier would hypnotize her to act like a baby, but only while sucking on it.
The gears in Tina’s head began to turn. She could use something to make Leah behave for once. And Leah’s diaper wasn’t too wet. She could wait on a change. Tina took out her phone and pulled up the website for the company that made Leah’s pacifier. After perusing the website, she decided to buy…
