You slowly open your eyes; everything is blurry. Something pinches your nose, and a loud HONK! sounds in your ears.
You close your eyes tightly and shake your head. Now you see you are in your hospital bed, and a an auguste clown (wait, how do you know she's an auguste clown? And what is an auguste clown anyway?) dressed like a nurse is standing over your bed. She's of middle height, with a pinkish complexion, white ovals around her eyes that reach up to her forehead that give her a surprised look and her mouth is surrounded by a white muzzle with pinkish red lips in a cupid's bow smile. The hair under her nurse's cap is thick red urls with silver highlights and a round red nose is at the center of her face.
"Oh good, you're awake, heheyaha." She pinches your nose, that HONK! sounds again.
"Would you please not do that, heheyaha?" you ask, then hold your hand over your mouth. Your voice sounded different-somewhat deeper, and with a goofy lilt. And you giggled like her, on impulse.
Suddenly you are aware of a touch of red at the bottom of your field of vision. You inch up you hand; your nose is a perfect sphere, round and fleshy and feels about the size of a tennis ball. You give a pull, and a loud Honk! sounds again.
You remember what that voice told you as you were floating in the spiritual world. And it seems you ended up on a clown world. And now you are a clown yourself.
The curtain around your bed opens and a whitefaced clown with thick bushy blue hair surrounding a bald head and big features lie a big red nose, big red mouth, and a big stomach dressed in a doctor's outfit waddles close to your bed. "Well, nurse, heeheeyaha," he giggles, "how's our patient doing, heeheyaha?" then honks his nose.
The nurse honks her own nose, and suddenly knowledge of this world and its social structure fills your head. About how Whitefaces like the doctor are at the top, auguste such as the nurse are in the middle, and with hoboes, tramps, bag ladies and rubes form the very bottom. And of how giggles, guffaws, and nose honking serve are audible punctuation marks. There's more to it of course but right now it's too complex for you to mentally sort through.
"Why don't you ask him yourself, heheyaha?" the nurse replies and squeezes her own nose. Honk!
The doctor turns to you with an inquisitive look. "Could I have a mirror, heeheeyaha?" you ask and honk your nose. Both clown nod, and the nurse waddles to a bag nearby and pulls out a hand mirror that look's way too big to fit inside that bag. she holds it in front of you and you see that now....
