Dani's Big Vacation! As the Airbus flew over Madrid, Dani looked down at the now tiny labyrinth of streets, plazas and buildings. They looked like toys, so unreal. As clouds blocked his view, he turned his attention to the brochures of North American cities he'd be touring. The dollar had been down compared to the Euro, when Dani signed up for this trip and locked in his price, but he really didn't know the other people in his group. He'd taken the place of a friend who'd originally signed up for the trip with his fellow physics grad students, and physics was definitely not Dani's field. Still some of the guys in the group were hot, Dani thought absently twisting a lock of long hair around his index finger as he stole a glance at Gunther Heinz. The big blond giant stood 193cm/6'4", and was 107kg/235 lbs of muscle, but apparently he was afraid of flying. Gunther seemed nervous, his massive shoulders bent, and he kept looking around.
Dani wished Gunther was his seat mate, so he could-uh, help reassure the guy that flying was perfectly safe. Maybe they could become friends, after all it was a three week trip.
Gunther's nervousness had nothing to do with air travel. The physics student had just stolen a top secret project from his professors. His theft hadn't been discovered, and it might not be. He'd used some of the nanobots in the shiny metal spray canister to transform his advisor and two other professors into inanimate objects. He'd taken the files on cd rom, as well as the paper copies, the cannister and the command pda prototype. The papers were now concealed inside the grate of his fireplace, but the cd's, pda and cannister of nanobots were all in his carry-on bag. Gunther's anxiety was increased as he read about the man who got shot by air marshals in Miami. Would he make it through Customs without being caught?
Dani leaned back in his seat and dozed off fantasizing about Gunther. He'd think of a pretext to end up with Gunther, after all all the students would be pairing up to share hotel rooms on this trip. Dani's feet pressed against his carry-on bag. The bag was identical to Gunther's and had been provided by the travel agency, as had most of the carry-on bags carried by members of the group.
