Animalia Magazine: Jumpin' January Edition

added by makutamon 7 months ago O

The January 2023 edition of Animalia Magazine was called the Jumpin' January Edition, mainly because of the Year of the Rabbit competition that was going on at roughly the same time as the release. The cover "couple" was actually more like a lineup of the male rabbits taking part in the Mr. Zodiac Competition.

---

The main article not only talked about rabbits in mythology, but also in both science and popular culture. There were some who made a lot of fuss about the more "sexual" ties to rabbits, but these were generally dismissed as "uncultured idiots".

---

Another article was actually a preview for this year's 2023 IAC. It was less like an article and more like an "interview" between Oda Nobunaga, Hideyoshi Tokichiro, Tokugawa Ieyasu, and Earendil over who Sauron was (with William serving as translator, since Earendil couldn't speak Japanese yet).

O.N.: He's only the second "dark lord" the western world has seen? Who was the first?

E.: The first dark lord was Morgoth, the Great Enemy. Sauron was his servant. He was loyal to him above and beyond his other masters.

T.E.: If he wasn't so... evil, he'd almost be the perfect retainer.

H.T.: But who were those two figures clad in black we encountered back at the fallen dwarf kingdom?

E.: Whether they were kings or generals, they were one great leaders of men. But Sauron, the Deceiver, gave to each of them one of the Nine Rings of Power. Whether blinded by greed or ambition or otherwise, they took them without question and ended up falling into darkness. Now they are the Nazgūl, the Ringwraiths, his most terrible servants.

H.T.: Well, judging by their reactions to Hiddy's blade, Sohayamaru, we might have a weapon powerful enough to destroy them and their master once and for all.

E.: We shall see.

A third article (which was only in the digital edition for Premium members) talked about something that was an indirect result of Animalia's newest trend: the evolution of the terms "bimbo" and "himbo". What was probably the most surprising was that the term "bimbo" was originally a term used to apply to men, though this was more understood to be part of "changing times". Equally as surprising was the fact that the term "himbo" had only entered the slang lexicon around the start of the 21st century.

Part of the reason why this article features himbos as well as bimbos was directly because of the bimbos coming to Animalia: "himbos" coming to Animalia for a "good time".

Finally, there was a "preview article" to help people get ready for Valentine's Day, which featured both word puzzles and art puzzles.
