After studying the different directions you decide to pick the arrow reading "Princes' Pond". That looks promising. Well, as much as any of the other choices, you reason. You're a young woman of twenty so finding your prince charming at Pleasure Island is actually quite appropriate. And charming, also appropriately speaking. You giggle a bit and take the path that will lead you to that pond in question. Of course, you are fully aware that it might just be a kitschy setting. A normal pond with solely cheaply painted and molded plastic replicas of frogs with little crowns on their heads. It probably is but... But this IS Pleasure Island, after all and you might get a big surprise. And what will a little glimpse do? If it really is incredibly disappointing, you'll turn back and that will be all. But even if it it kitsch it might be cute, in a dopey sort of way. You hum a tune as you stroll along the path. Crickets are chirping and a few birds are still twittering in the dusky light. The sun has just set below the horizon. The air is balmy and the woods smell of warm nature. And... Are those frogs you hear happily croaking? Yes, yes, indeed. True to a warm and calm summer evening, the frogs are singing their songs. The pond is near and it looks like it contains actual frogs, if not princes. You walk a bit more briskly and arrive at the Princes' Pond. It's not kitsch or cheap at all! The pond looks more like a small lake and the many waterlilies are in full bloom, amidst a rich lush flora. There is even a wooden bridge and pathway across the surface of the water with several gazebos. The wood is elaborately sculpted, as much as the statues set about the place. This place in indeed enchanting! You could spend hours relaxing there! There are birds, dragonflies, ladybugs, fireflies and above all myriads of frogs croaking, swimming and leaping about. A true summer setting, prone to get anyone serene. You approach, enthralled by such beauty and tranquility, when something completely unexpected occurs.
