Getting to know Abby and Yuki

added by O 7 months ago AR O Magic Mental

Gail was certainly taken by surprise with Stella's friends. She had gotten to know Abolith over the past several months, finding the assassin to be one of the most intimidating people she had ever met. Yuriko on the otherhand was a complete mystery. As far as she knew the elderly woman (now teenage girl) was Darren's magical teacher. To now find both women reduced to teenagers her age made the young teachers head spin.

"Thank you Mrs. Wright," Yuriko smiled as Gail's mother now brought the teens pizza and soda. Gail's mother simply smiled, thanking the Asian girl before commenting to Gail how polite her friend was and how Gail should invite her over more often. "Okay mom," Gail replied in annoyance. "You're embarrassing me. Can I get back to my sleepover please?" As Gail's mother no left, the auburn haired teen turned to both Yuriko and Abolith in confusion. "Okay how is this even possible?"

"Ask her," Abolith replied flatly, gesturing towards Yuriko. Gail's focus now resting on the pretty Asian teen who was currently shoveling pizza into her mouth. Gail now raised her arms, looking for any type of explanation. "Magic," Yuriko said, her mouth full of pizza. "Abby here mentioned this little get together and needed my help. By the way OH! MY! GOD!!! I forgot how good pepperoni and bacon pizza could be."

"So you cast a spell making you and Abby teenagers," Neela asked.

"Does everyone have to call me Abby," Abolith groaned.

"Well yeah," Yuriko shrugged. "I mean you really can't go to a sleepover when your past 80 and...well however may centuries old Abolith is." Neela and the others now glanced at one another before shrugging, Yuriko did have a point. "So Miss Yuriko.."

"Please call me Yuki," she smiled. "Thats what everyone called me when I was a kid. Speaking of which, you guys are 14 right? I made me and Abolith 14 but if we're too old I can make us younger."

"I think I'm young enough wizard thank you," Abolith grumbled. Yuriko smirked, tossing a slice of pizza towards Abolith. "Have some pizza Abby it's good." Abolith frowned, taking a bite before pausing, this was good.

"So you have magic," Pam asked, to which Yuriko nodded. "Yeah for as long as I can remember," Yuriko replied. "I mean I didn't have control when I was an infant but by the time I hit preschool I already had pretty good control."

"Can you show us," Stella asked quietly. Yuriki grinned, nodding before making sure Gail's parents weren't around. The teens now watched as Yuriko began to focus,. The teens now watched as Gail's coffee table began to shudder, sloqly levitating into the air. The girls gasped as Yuriko held the table aloft, allowing it to spin slowly in the air.

"My magic is a bit different than Darren's," Yuriko stated. "As strong as he is, he hasn't mastered psionics. Telepathy, telekinesis, I'm kind of an expert."

"And psychics are always an annoying foe," Abolith grumbled, her mouth filled with pizza. "Thats why I'm happy few wizards are skilled with that particular discipline."

"Psychics are that rare," Stella asked.

"Very," Yuriko replied. "In fact during my lifetime there was only one other. My teacher Mary Elise Kane."

"She too was a teacher," Abolith added. "You four would have liked her. She was intelligent and very protective of her students."

"Why Abby I don't think I've ever heard you speak highly of any wizard," Yuriko smiled.

"Mary Elise was different Yuki," Abolith smirked. "She may have been an enemy but I admired the womans courage. Especially considering her disability."

"Disability," Gail asked.

"She was paralyzed below the waist," Yuriko stated. "Crippled while trying to rescue me. Still, even after that happened she was always willing to protect others."

The teens listened attentively, finding the long history of both Abby and Yuki fascinating. Still, how often did they have the opportunity to have an actual wizard at a sleepover. "So," Neela asked. "Do you think you can do anymore magic."

"I guess," Yuriko shrugged. "But wouldn't you rather do typical sleepover stuff. Text a crush and see if he replies? Sneak out? Maybe give Abby a makeover?"

"I didn't agree to a makeover," Abolith exclaimed.

"Oh cmon Abby someone has to get a makeover," Yuriko grinned. "And you seem to be the one most uncomfortable with it."

"Or Gail," Pam snickered. "Gail hates it when we give her a makeover." Gail blushed, sinking down into the coach as the teens laughed. As the teens now chatted, they tried to decide what they should do for the evening.
